latter is good with job security, and those hours means you can have a life. Plus, it's enough money and time to explore a bunch of hobbies. And you could even go to school with those hours and move towards a higher paying job.

Yeah. Imagine if you were doing manual labor for 70 hours a week for 5 years.

You'd be shot in a month. I've done more than 70 hours twice and my body was in bad shape.

It all depends on if I'm single or not. If I have no one to come home to, I'd rather spend my days at work building wealth. My time is my own and I'm not having others wait on me and my busy schedule. Life is a lot easier. If I have a family I'd take the 65K job though.

I do almost 70 hours a week in the summer at my current job and let me say 250k would not be worth it. The mental strain of only waking up to work and then coming home to go right to sleep to repeat the cycle is awful and I'd probably quit in the first month

If that were true, why do we have people like Tiger Woods, Elon Musk, or Warren Buffett who continue to work their asses off year after year despite already having more wealth than they could ever hope to spend?

Dude its common to do 12 hour days two weeks straight in numerous physical jobs. I did 24 and a half days once working 12 minimum every day.

On topic 65k job easily.

I wouldn't do 70 hrs./week for all the money in the world. Those hours are brutal and you're asking for a burnout at that point.

35 hrs./week would mean 4 days consisting of 9 hr. shifts or 5 days consisting of 7 hr. shifts. Seems manageable, and you'll still have time to actually have a life.

that's in addition to what i have saved up already. but yeah.

edit: and if you assume 5% ROI, $1M would net you $50k/year in dividends. i could definitely live on $50k/year after I paid what little taxes I would owe.

I live modestly so 65k is more than enough for me and I'd have tons of free time. However I don't have kids or anything so I don't really need all that free time in the way some people would, and I could retire sooner and leave my better future for my children... However working that much is likely to bring me to an early grave.

Damn this is tough. I guess I'd go for the 65.
