I'm looking for one currently and $299.99 is in the budget. I only want other for Mario Kart to take to my friend's house when I travel for vacation, but the first response is always "there's no reason to get one right now"

I've had great luck using the Target website. It allows you to search all of the Targets in your area, and if it says "Limited Availability/Stock" chances are good they have at least one in stock unless they sold it within the last hour.

Bought three from Target so far. One for myself, one for my brother, and one for my cousin. I know it's pretty accurate because one time the Target employee said I missed one by 20 minutes, it still said "limited availability" on the site but I kept checking and it was updated within 45 minutes of that.

I will be leaving on my vacation May 5th and I dont forsee myself finding a Switch in the store by then. If not then I'll pass on getting one until sometime next year.

I randomly called a target store and they had two that weren't listed on the website. They haf just come in on a truck this morning. Was able to go buy it on my lunch break.

They had 5 this morning and by 12:30 they had none. Insane.

I bought no games for it and only plan on getting Mario Kart. Probably won't touch it much until I get that.

I'm quite glad I got mine. I could have gotten Zelda on the WiiU, but I've already made use of the Switch's portability while playing Zelda on several occasions, plus I've had some good fun with Snipperclips. In particular, a friend's coworker was hospitalized with Chron's for a couple weeks, and we took my Switch in to her hospital room one day and the two of them spent an hour playing Snipperclips, which brightened her day immensely. That one visit alone was easily worth what I would have saved by waiting a year or two, so I don't regret taking the plunge at all.

I've seen plenty for sale over here and I'm definitely not broke. They have so many IPs and yet they do nothing with them. Why? Because they don't sell.

I could have bought a Zelda machine with manufacturer defects... or I could have bought literally anything else.

How about I let the trigger happy buyers get it early, and when it has games on it I'll buy it for Mario. At that point they'll have the kinks ironed out and it won't be a steaming pile of hot turd.

Don't even like Zelda that much. If I wanted Zelda, I could get it for the Wii U. There's literally no reason to get the Switch right now unless you need Nintendo games on the go right now.
