Ehhh....

I like that they tried something different with the sidequests and optional rewards, but I still hated the setting. I don't play CoD campaigns to shoot robots. I didn't care about the characters either.

Terrible name, and I can't see this differentiating at all from WaW, which was one of the worst in the series if not for Nazi Zombies.

Pre-modern settings just don't work with the attachment unlock thing that CoD thrives on. And the skins. Imagine a WWII game with blue tiger and neon rainbow weapons.

Yeah, with the same game engine still being used, I don't see the point. Graphics in Infinite Warfare is only a slight improvement.

only thing they could do to stand out...add vehicle support, maybe? CoD United Offensive is the only CoD game ever that featured driveable vehicles in multiplayer. Don't know why they reversed back after that

WW2 is a way too overused war period in videogames already.

It's been 9 years since W@W and there really haven't been that many WW2 games since. It was oversaturated during the PS1 & PS2 eras, but it backed off once CoD4 popularized the modern setting.

There's been enough time and advancement since then that a WW2 game could be amazing. And even if it sucks, it's still better than another futuristic CoD.

Also, larger maps please god. They don't have to be big, just have a good mix like MW2.

This would actually make me want to play it more. I really enjoyed BO3 and IW because they made the game faster-paced and eliminated a lot of the issues with camping. Not all, but a lot of them. This return to boots-on-the-ground gameplay could work well if it's still a relatively fast-paced game similar to MW3 or BO2. But if it's a significantly slower game like MW2 or (god forbid) Ghosts was, then I won't even bother. I just don't find those slower games fun. Like, at all.

All you have to do to eliminate camping is play Kill Confirmed. Preferably Hardcore Kill Confirmed.

If this game doesn't have HCKC (like AW and IW), I'm not buying it.

I never said it wasn't easy to deal with. I took care of them just fine. But if far too many people are camping, it slows the game to a crawl and makes it unfun whether you're playing well or not. When a Team Deathmatch can reach the time limit and neither team even gets 40 kills, which I saw quite regularly during my time playing Ghosts, that's far, far too slow for me to find fun. The worst score I ever saw in Ghosts was a TDM that reached the time limit with a score of 22-19. I had 14 of the losing team's kills and 10 of the losing team's deaths because there was literally no one else actually moving around the map. Not a single one.

I know some people might find that sort of game fun, and all power to them. But I don't, and I can't even imagine how a person would. It's baffling to me.

This is what I'm afraid of. If the players start complaining again, Activision might start thinking deeper into it: "They didn't want futuristic shooters, but now they don't want historical shooters, so then what do they want? Why should we even bother making more games then?"

I don't want the Call of Duty fanbase to doom the Call of Duty franchise, because the games themselves are still enjoyable for the most part.

Yes, WW2 was overplayed 10 years ago, but not on this generation at all. I'm excited to see what they do with it. I don't care about the attachments or unlocking at all.

Maybe they'll make it a larger scale COD? 16 on 16 with bigger maps? That'd be sweet.

I used to like WW2 as well, then every game started doing it and before long, you find yourself shooting the same guns in the same setting in the same maps, across multiple games. It gets very repetitive after that. How many more times do you need? What does a new WWII game this era makes? Just new graphics? CoD's engine has one of the crappiest graphics to begin with anyway.

Unless they dare venture beyond just the Western front in WWII to cover the British, India vs Japan battles in Asia as well, which I highly doubt so since no one cares about anything too far away from home, do they?

also lol at
there really haven't been that many WW2 games since.

there's been plenty of WWII games this gen. There's always that one generic WWII FPS that comes out every year since so many game companies lack innovation whatsoever, just like how there's always some crappy zombie title coming out every month or so.
