US Customs and Protection Agents said he was deported because his DACA status expired in 2015 and he never renewed it. But Juan insists that he did and they never had grounds to remove him. Agents said they picked him up and deported him back after catching him trying to sneak back into the US on February 19th which he doesn't dispute but said he jumped the fence because he feared for his life in Mexico and wanted to go back to California. It happened on February 17th in Calexico where he was stopped suddenly and aggressively by a Border Patrol Agent on a bike as he walked to a taxi stand after spending the night at a friend's house. The officer asked him for ID but he didn't have it with him that contained California identification card and EAD (proof of eligibility to work). He was then driven to a detention centre and forced to sign papers in English which he didn't understand as he was not provided an opportunity to see an immigration judge and to seek counsel to review the documents he was signing. CBP officers then marched him to the border and physically removed him from the US..2 days later he tried sneaking back in out of fear for his life from Mexican killers. He was detained again and sent right back to Mexicali. He is now suing the government, demanding it release records surrounding his case and they refused to answer his claims on why he was deported. Agents have been quiet on the issue claiming "privacy policy". Juan entered the US at 9 with his Mom and lived in the country since. He suffered a brain injury as a boy leaving him with special needs and has learning difficulties. He graduated in 2013 and completed a welding course at community college The last few years he picked crops in farms in Arizona and California and was granted DACA status in 2012 He was one conviction of shoplifting in 2016 and 3 convictions of driving without a license but none are serious to disqualify his valid DACA enrollment. Considering how he has a brain injury and can't read English, I'm not surprised he was caught out on an issue of filing paperwork.

I can't really defend the dude after stealing multiple times. Otherwise I could show some sympathy for his injuries.

Yeah, they should be allowed to stay. But situations like this specific one, no. One how the heck can he not read english? He has been here since he was 9, I call bullshit on that. He didn't help the situation when he was caught trying to hop the boarder. Lost all sympathy. Sure he has a brain injury, but he also has a welders certificate. Then he got caught shoplifting and deiving illegally. Sorry but if your not gonna obey the rules, bye. Yes american citizens do worse things but they go to prison. He just gets banished, fair to me. I say we give him a choice, prison or banishment.
