that was one of my gripes, the team never really felt like they were friends

it was just 24/7 phantom thieves. Like the only thing keeping them together was being phantom thieves. When they didn't have a target they pretty much broke up and did their own thing until a new one was found, and even on vacations they would spend the whole trip talking about being phantom thieves

They even have a fight about it, how people were just acting for their own motivations instead of a team motivation

They do talk about being the Phantom Thieves a bit to much though.

I think I see what you mean. You have a lot less people who are your actual classmates, and you're always texting. It seemed like a more tight knit group when they actually lived together like in P3 or always met up at Junes. The shifting hideouts and group texts from home detracted from that.

50 hours in, got to the 5th Palace and ugh. Some parts of the story are great, but some are annoying

I'm pretty sure Okumura is a pawn of whoever the SIU director is working for and a fall guy. The Principals "suicide" and knowing there's some people running around abusing the metaverse is a nice shift. However, the Hawaii trip was fucking horrible. Get roomed with the worst character ever and the whole trip amounted to "Whoa, Americans know about the Phantom Thieves too?". Then Mona and his angtsy bitch fit pissed me off, but it did make way for Harus intro which I loved.

I might be booting Ann off my lineup for Haru, I'm digging her so far.

I'm really enjoying it but there does seem to be a lot of railroading. I know a lot of people end up not being able to return DVDs on time because the game just forces you to keep doing day after day with not real gameplay between since Morgana forces you to go to bed.

Yeah, that certainly is a problem. I know the guide I'm following has made absolutely no mention of renting DVDs, which is likely for this reason.

eh, all they do is text you about being worried, and make fun of Ryuji. If they aren't talking about being phantom thieves then it's about studying for exams. The cast never really grows as a group like SEES and IT did, and it's more of "People who have their own reasons for changing hearts deciding when it's convenient to do so, whether for popularity or to cover up an insecurity"

Yeah, the Hawaii trip wasn't all that great. I'm not a super huge fan of how the Phantom Thieves take up so much of the popular discourse in the game. It's all anybody talks about at this point, though that's by design. Honestly, Ryuji irritated me quite a lot around this time. He's always "Phantom Thieves this, Phantom Thieves that.", lacks any self-awareness whatsoever, and is especially condescending to Mona. I haven't used him since I got Yusuke as a party member.

Also, Ann is a godsend in palace 5. There are a number of enemies weak to Agi, and with her naturally high magic, was able to make short work of them. I used Haru, Ann, MC, and Makoto in that dungeon exclusively. You need to spread the SP around in that dungeon, and those 4 encompassed all of the major weaknesses you'll find. Bring Mitra or another persona with bless attacks, too; there's an enemy that is made much easier for it.

Really? I felt they were more close knit in Persona 5 than in Persona 3. I mean, in Persona 3 they're all just sitting around in the communal room, doing absolutely nothing other. There are the just there for the common bond of being in SEES. I never got any bit of friendship out of them, like they actually spent time together. They were all clearly depicted as friends in P4, though.

Yeah I mean, 95% of the conversation is "omg Phantom Thieves are awesome!" with 5% omg Principal killed himself, aren't the Phantom Thieves so cool?.

And damn, I might copy your setup for palace 5. Right now I'm running Ann, Yusuke and Makoto. I got the SP Adhesives so SP isn't that bad, and I fused a mean Mitra at the end of the last palace. Thanks for the tips.

You can either go back to the beginning of Mementos or the palace you're in and talk to the party members you want to swap in, or you can do it via the stats screen. There should be an option there to do so.

Go into stats highlight the character you want to remove from your party and press square.

Are there any more big reveals left at all between now and the ending of the game? Aside from the Morgana stuff. I'm totally spoiling myself on that right now so this won't feel like a complete waste

Exactly. Which is why I'm lowkey kinda pissed that I stayed up so late for such a lame "reveal" smh

Hopefully whatever's left will be enough to make up for this. Doesn't take away this awesome experience and my overall enjoyment of the game, but it was a real bummer. Especially since I didn't even P4spoilerssuspect Adachi for the longest time, and his character wasn't even set up all that well in hindsight. Akechi is flat out hamfisted in the player's face, he's not with the rest of the team on any promotional art, and he's the only "member" to want the Phantom Thieves to disband, among about 20 other blatantly obvious tells

Ugh, I don't mean to dwell on this, but wow was that BAD.

Also, second playthrough gives way too much time. I didn't plan for anything at all and maxed out all links, read all books, beat all games, and went to the gym so many times that my HP and SP only increased by 1 each time I went, and still had like two weeks left over with nothing to do. People complain about days being taken on the first run all the time, but if they weren't, I'd literally just spend entire weeks going right home and sleeping.
