I went down to my cellar storage unit yesterday and went through all the boxes to get rid of stuff I don't want to keep. I haven't been down there in years. My boyfriend and I broke up two years ago and we got this apartment together so he had his stuff down there too before we split. Anyway, he said he had taken all his stuff from there but I found two boxes which belong to him. They contain high school graduation photos and lots of mementos. Pound Sterling too. So I guess I have to let him know about the boxes. It would not surprise me, knowing him, if he wonder where the stuff is -___-

Could've just ignored them. He hasn't thought about the shit in 2 years, obviously. Sounds like you kinda wanted an excuse to reach out. Don't worry, I've been there with exes. I still get the urges with one in particular sometimes.

I can say 100% sure that I don't want an excuse to reach out. He acted like an utter dick to my friends after we broke up and the only feeling I got for him is a desire to punch him in the face. But I am an honest person and I would feel bad if I tossed the stuff in the trash anyway.

I would have done the same as TC. Whatever discomfort I'd feel getting back in touch with them would be worth it for the peace of mind. Otherwise the unfinished business would weigh on my mind, if even just a little bit.
