I've already been spoiled to the "twist" a long ass time ago but like....they make it VERY clear its a dream land pretty early on

I'm already two instruments in. I have 3 heart pieces and seashells


Kinda already forgot where I got them


I have some bananas, got the powder upgrade
really thought the Bananas went to the Monkey right outside the house...guess that was the point

the only issue I have with this game so far is its kinda hard to navigate the world

alot of paths lead to dead ends or they twist to another part of the map that I didn't want to go to

After you trade the shovel for another item, don't buy another shovel, this is a good way to stuff your inventory up and break the game forever when you need another item and have no room

I found one seashell at some chest

another one was in a field in town

and another one was buried near a gravestone



Heart pieces, one was surrounded by holes, another one was in a cave where I needed the bracelet

dont' remember where I got the other one

You only have so many inventory slots. You start with Shovel, trade it for Item. If you then buy another Shovel, you have Shovel and Item...which then takes up a slot you'll need later for a third item and you can't win the game without it

They might have fixed this with the DX version, not sure

Don't forget for every 5 seashells you get visit the house that judges your number, you'll get an extra seashell from it. If you get over 6 before you get the house's seashell you miss that extra shell.

the bonus seashells aren't even necessary!

The extra seashell thing is super unnecessary, don't even worry about it, just play the game

It's not like the map spoils anything anyway since it's so vague, and Pun's probably already seen most of it since he's 2 dungeons in.

Besides I did it because Pun really hates permanent missables in games.

The game doesn't keep track of seashells after a certain point so this isn't really a permanent missable

once you cash them in the extras just turn into rupees

it's not even the slightest bit of a concern

Pun still has a completionist mindset about stuff like this.

Besides why you guys are getting prissy over something like seashells and a map? Did you forget that Zelda 1 on NES came with this fold out?

but I actually found the place shortly around after I found Donkey Kong without the help of it

I also located the seashell in the garden outside of the seashell place


I found some guy whos hangin out with a bunch of frogs and he has me finding golden leaves


I found 2 so far in some castle

Oh did you talk to the Camera mouse who lives in the house near the cave where you saved the chain chomp from the moblins? That's a side quest with some permanent missables.

Not right now but there are a few missable photos later with Marin.

Edit-Did you get a photo with Ricard at the front of the castle gate? I don't remember if this is missiable after you open the gate

Just go in front of the castle gate while it's up and Richard will walk up and then the mouse will take a picture of him and Link together.

There's a switch that opens the gate inside the castle and I'm not sure if Richard will show up if it's open.

Uh oh I looked online and it is permanently missable if you open the gate. You can try resting from your last save to get it if you didn't save after you opened the gate.

It's not really worth resetting the game over through, you don't get anything for completing the album besides some cute/funny pictures.

This is why I like the original non-DX version. You don't ever have to put up with that text box.
Oh and map screen warp shenanigans.

Other than that, DX version is good stuff regardless.

Keep in mind it's impossible to get 100% completion in this game because two photos are mutually exclusive.

I kept making these diagonal jumps and stuff, and I beat the boss before I even opened all of the doors


well, now I have the flippers

the seashell house didn't give me an extra shell at 15

I guess they only do it for 5 and 10?

Yeah, that's definitely the easiest one to sequence break without glitching. The developers clearly had... something in mind, but they overlooked a lot of basic movements in this dungeon.
