The long standing tradition of military service for young men after high school was abolished in 2010 by the Conservative Reinfeldt administration. The Socialdemocratic Löfven administration has now brought it back but it is gender neutral and also less extensive than before (all men had to do it or else you got locked up in jail for a couple months). We graduate high school the year we turn 19 so the process start the year before graduation.

* In April-May starting this year: All citizens who turn 18 will get log in to a questionnaire to fill out regarding military service.

* In June: You are informed if you have been selected for enrolment review.

* July-January: You are given information about where to show up for enrolment about 2-3 months in advance.

* October-April: The enrolments are carried out which contain physical, medical and psychological tests.

* From summer: The selected do their military service for 9-11 months.

The Left-Right in Sweden is not completely like other nations. Some parts of the Swedish Left are like the US Left and some parts of the Right are like the US Right but there is greater variation :)
