But at least Obi-Wan Kenobi didn't determine that one planet was south of another

and nobody used sonic weapons in space

and a monster didn't disarm a jedi by hitting the blade of his lightsaber

and Obi-Wan didn't chastise Anikin for being too rash moments before jumping out the window on like the thousandth floor


and the two main characters didn't force sense an insect in another room while being distracted by an argument but minutes later find themselves unable to sense an assassin while actively looking for a threat



and Anikin didn't talk about sand and pretend to be dead and every single character wasn't completely useless for 90% of the film except for Obi-Wan who literally stumbles upon the potential to win a war nobody knew was coming just out of coincidence and Anikin and Padme didn't develop the deepest romance ever over the course of three lines of dialog and they didn't talk about cool things happening instead of showing the cool things happen and...

rogue one is terrible

one dimensional cast lacking in personality, tone is all over the fucking place, the movie basically exists as bad OT fanservice/fanfiction, etc

I think TFA is flawed but I can point to a lot of things that had merit in terms of character/story/filmmaking. Rogue One is just a genuinely bad movie that people won't even defend in another 2-3 years.

Honestly, Ep I's last fight was better than Ep II's. I mean at least it had the double-bladed lightsaber, which is one of the few good things to come out of the PT. If this is about the "ballet" thing, it's because the force makes them thibk like five or six moves ahead. Watching Yoda jump around was entertaining but betrayed the purpose of the character.

Episode I had a good fight scene involving a villain with a unique look. Episode II didn't have that. Natalie Portman's hotness was the only good thing about the second movie. Plus, they made Anakin a whiny emo bitch. And that kept me from watching anything Star Wars related for a decade and a half.

I think the prequels, Force Awakens, and Rogue One are better than 4-6. It is simply because 4-6 are so very dated now. I used to love them so much and when I went back to watch them around Christmas, it was almost painful.

The newer movies were dated the day of release.

The CGI in the OT is still very believable to this day. RO's CGI wasn't that bad, but 7 had Snoke which is just as bad as anything in the Prequels. And he's going to be a major character in this trilogy >_>

When people act in front of green screens (as they did in the Prequels) the acting takes a huge drop in quality

People talk about how "terrible" the lightsaber battles are in the OT, but if lightsabres were real that is what a lightsaber battle would look like. None of that jumping around bull****

The prequels are objectively better than the OT. Better acting, better writing, better special effects, better directing, and arguably the best romance ever put on the silver screen.
