Playing Rock/Metal in a band requires you to play an actual instrument or sing well and that takes time and effort, you have to practice endlessly to be good and sound good.

While EDM is just pressing a few buttons on a computer to make robot noises then slap a sample from Family Guy or Rick and Morty in there and call it a day and watch as the sheep/Redditors eat that shit up and shower endless undeserving praise upon these talentless hacks called DJs

I just don't get it.

I think he's well aware of that. It's the skill gap of pressing some buttons (I know that's way over simplified) compared to taking years and years to practice and master a guitar or drums.

yeah, there's some shit edm. there's also some shit metal out there too

at the end of the day, every instrument is just a tool to make a sound, a computer is no different in that respect.

putting the sounds together in a way that sounds good is the hard part, and the end result of it is all that matters

The production part for electronic music is certainly easier, but that doesn't means it's easy to make good music.

Yngwie Malmsteen is a very talented guitarist, yet everything he makes sounds like shit.

It doesn't matter how much you can do with a guitar, if you don't actually have songwriting skills, which is why so many prog bands are shit. "womg so complex, so many time signatures, too bad it sounds like shit!"
