Time for a depressing look back at my 30 years on this Earth.

I'm trying to decide if I want the 30 days to be all of April or should I start tomorrow so the final entry is May 1st.

I honestly have trouble picking 10 regrets in my life. Off the top of my head i can think of maybe 2?

Regret #1: Not leaving my family when I should have

April 2nd, 2010. My father's in jail. I've had it up to here with my family the last couple of days, as both my mom and dad's behavior had completely disgust me. I decided I had enough and began packing up some meager clothes options and was ready to leave the house for good. My mother and sister stop me by grabbing both of my legs and refusing to let go. Two grow women clinging to my legs. They guilt me into staying and even I get completely embroiled in the Divorce proceedings.

I regret it because I should have, for my mental health, kept some level of distance from the proceedings. It might have hurt my dad more because of it, but maybe it would have made things a lot easier on me because I would be going about actually beginning my own personal life. Now I'm so connected at the hip to my father, our lives so intertwined, I see no way to disconnect from him without it being extremely painful for both of us. If I had just taken off, and put distance between my family for at least a little while, I'd be in a much better place.

Regret #2: Waiting too long to tell a girl my feelings

There was a girl I had a crush on all through-out high school that I never told her the way I felt. We became friends but I wanted more. But I never had the balls to go through with it, and watched her go through two awful boyfriends with the stereotypical "I'd treat her better" attitude that I never let her know about.

Then one day I got drunk and texted her how I felt.

It pretty much ended any relationship we had after that. I apologized for it, and tried to play it off as being really drunk and not knowing what I was saying, but she rightfully pointed out that we were friends for years and that if you felt that way you shouldn't have waited until you were drunk to say anything. We worked through it but the friendship was never the same and we rarely talk since. She did invite me to her wedding, though. But I harbored feelings for her for a good 4-5 years before finally saying something and by then it was far too late. So I lost a friendship and didn't have a relationship materialize.
