arcade sticks carried the company. it was their deal with Harmonix to publish Rock Band 4 and manufacture instruments that did them in.

who's doing the Tekken stick? I saw a picture for that and just assumed it was Mad Catz. Razer, I guess?

I remember my mom bought me second PS2 controller as a kid and it was MadCatz instead of an official one. It was the size of a bowling ball, it made the original Xbox controller look like a breath mint, all the buttons would stick, and it had a bunch of extra buttons everywhere that I could never figure out what they did. My friends hated using that controller, but hey it was the only other one I had so they had to deal with it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the stigma around Street Fighter V had a hand in this, they get the most promotion from Capcom but since SF5 is failing to attract new blood and most of the esports folk have sticks already the demand for sticks has probably dropped significantly.

I do like those Saturn Style SFxT controllers even though everyone else seems to hate them (I read they have breakage issues but mine still work fine) wish they made some for modern consoles but oh well.

MadCatz's turnaround on arcade stick quality changed the arcade stick game worldwide. The other players in the market realized they had to step up their s*** too. HORI, Qanba, etc wouldn't be where they are now quality-wise if not for MadCatz.

When I went to my first Smash tournament ever which was PAX 2005, my friends and I made crew shirts and put a couple random sponsors on there to make us look initimidating or whatever. Mad Catz was one of them. We chose it because no one would question such a s***ty sponsor.

They made (well, bought Saitek, who made) my PC flighstick, a model which has a reputation for extreme s***tiness and breakability, but has seen me through many a pitched space battle and I can't imagine replacing.
