I just wanted to talk about how I killed my first two guardians and how thrilling/satisfying it was.

I only have 5 hearts too so it was basically "eye-shot", run up and slash, then run away and hide.

Helped that I had a couple guardian axes from the tests of strength.

Can you re-do the tests of strength to farm Guardian weapons, by chance?

I do quite enjoy fighting guardians! That was silly of me to avoid them for the first 120 hours...but eh I probably wasn't strong enough yet.

4 shrines left...not even tempted to look 'em up, 'cause it's so fun to investigate areas that I know I haven't explored fully yet, and find stuff there every time, even if it is never a shrine.

Do the lower level Lynels ever spawn once silver lynels start appearing? I don't think I've seen a lower level one since my first silver kill and it's kind of annoying.

The Lynel up by the Zora area will always be red.

I haven't seen one anywhere else in awhile.

Aw yeah. cleared out that labyrinth shrine, got a barbarian helm and a flaming greatsword.

Got my Sheikah stealth gear upgraded fully and got the Night Speed boost, which is AWESOME I can just outrun every enemy that's not on horseback now at night. It made fighting one of those Hinoxes hella easy coz he just couldn't catch me.

Now I need a bunch of Hightail Lizards and Electric Keese wings in order to upgrade my climbing set for the second time. Is there a good place to farm either of them?

I farmed the Hightail Lizards by the Great Fairy Fountain near Kakariko Village...cant say I was happy with the rate of spawns but I didnt know where else to go.

Electric Keese I'm not sure, I just happened to have enough on-hand.

I'm not gonna get the Night Speed boost because I use Sheik's mask over the normal stealth helmet.

This is where I did it too; note that you sometimes find them when cutting down grass too. There are also a decent number in Hateno village.

I assume you're using the upgraded Sheikah sensor Extha?

Electric keese: I want to say that a tunnel along the path from the Lanayru tower to the zora kingdom has a decent number? Not 100% on that.

Do Electric Keese zap you if you swing on them?

I know you can kill them with wooden spears, but I'm not sure if it's the reach or the fact that they're wooden that's protecting you; the safest way is to take them out with arrows or bombs.

So yeah all Shrines done, all Memories got, 42/42 Shrine Quests, 75/76 Side Quests... Goron dungeon left to clear off..... only 151 Koroks.

Off to do Goron dungeon now!

Like red said, the one up near the Zora area for the sidequest is always red.

As for Blue and White, I think that the ones at Hyrule Castle in the Gatehouses are locked to those colors too.

lynels are easy up to white for me (and its unfair that everyone turned white so quickly, augh)
but with the crusher-wielding Lynels I still havent got the timing down, so I just use hit and run tactics there

It's not that they're that hard, it's just that 5000 is a lot of HP to go through.

Pro-tip about Lynels: Shoot them in the face.

Honestly I clear even Silvers as fast as Moblins now... although I am now using full Barbarian gear with Savage Lynel Bows. But seriously just plow throw 'em.

Annnnd I have now finished the game with all quests beated! Kinda wish there'd be another little bonus but eh. I've kinda beaten Hyrule Castle like 10 times now. Now to finish my Compendium and get at least enough Koroks for a full inventory.

Tons of electric keese on the path to Zora's Domain

Lizards are generally everywhere. Just gotta be quick to get them.

I want this debate to be the Red9 vs Blacktail of this era.

It seems like the BotW board favors the Barbarian gear, which is surprising because for me, Ancient has been far and away the best combat gear in the game.

I wonder if Silver Lynel spawns (or Silver enemy spawns in general) are dependent on your number of dungeons cleared. I still haven't seen a Silver Lynel (two dungeons complete), and I've killed a lot of White-Maned ones.

I switch between Barbarian and Ancient depending on what weapons I'm using...

Enemy power is based on total enemies killed AFAIK. Not enemies of that type killed. Dungeons don't make a difference.

From what I hear Barbarian armor doesn't stack with potions/food sonce it's the same bonus. So if you want the most power Ancient is the way to go. Unless you want to use different weapons.

Finished the game. Before I played it my hype was pretty minimal since I don't like open world stuff very much in general (there are exceptions, like X, but stuff like GTAV and Oblivion bored me), but this was fantastic. I just love how much there is to do and how all of it feels at least somewhat meaningful. The Shrines were great, the dungeons were fun, and it's just a blast to play in general. It certainly has issues - rain can be really annoying, for example, especially when it comes to fire-related stuff. I think when I was trying to do the Akkala Tech Lab quest it rained three times in a row so I just had to wait... Probably the coolest thing was that I'd decide to do something, like head to a specific tower or shrine I saw, or proceed with the main quest or head to a dungeon. It always took me many hours to do this though, because I'd inevitably do a ton of Shrines and Koroks and Side Quests along the way. Getting powerful enough to annihilate Lynels and Guardians at the end felt great too. Definitely at least my second favorite 3D Zelda game, and probably actually better than Ocarina (BotW >= OoT > TP > WW = SS > MM for 3D Zelda for me).

I'm a little sad the patch only came out when I had like 2 hours of gameplay left, since the improvement is noticeable (still not perfect, but certainly better), but at least they improved it.

On hightail lizards, just cut grass. I like using the spin attack for that. They appear from that often enough

Just finished Rito dungeon. Revali is pretty awesome. Definitely enjoyed this dungeon and boss a lot more than the Zora one. Gonna do all the side quests and finish up a couple shrines here before doing my next progress update.

imo the best order is Rito->Zora->Gerudo->Goron.

And not even because that's like the usefulness of their abilities, I think that's just the easier order to tackle them in.

This is correct if you want to get the rewards in descending order of usefulness (Rito being especially useful at low stamina).

It's a bit before the huge bridge where you get ambushed by a moblin that Sidon warns you about. Basically right where the lightning kicks in, if you remember that far back.

explore more. in general, at night, you'll happen upon electric keese. or if a blood moon happens, go and get them.

Can you just drop keese wings and hit them with an electric weapon/arrow, or do they have to be from keese when you kill them?

Apparently you can force red moons, something about mighty bananas and these offerings around the Yiga hideout. Haven't tried myself though.
