I'm actually gonna skip the 1080 TI because while the dream is 4k/60fps, I don't have confidence that the card will hit that across most games. The next one though? Hell yeah. Plus, this way I can put both purchases (4k monitor, TI card) in different years. I'm fine with 21:9 now anyway.

man, I can't even imagine being done with this game. There's just so much to do. I feel like every weekend until Splatoon 2 the kids will find new ways to break it.

Finished ending A of Nier Automata. It's funny that after the credits a message literally from Square Enix PR pops up telling you to keep playing and that the game is far from done yet.

If Planescape is a 10/10, this one is an 8.5/10. Maybe a 9. Great experience. Would recommend and all that!

the unfortunate aspect of this crpg renaissance is that if you wait 6-12 months after release you'll have a vastly improved experience. and I think there's a significant difference between the after-launch support for Pillars of Eternity, Divinity, the Shadowrun games or this, and the GotY-style release that typifies after-launch support. these crpgs undergo rigorous testing that results in huge balance or QoL changes, or fulfill crowdfunding campaign promises after the fact. they aren't the same game after. PoE 2.0 or Dragonfall%u200B DC are wildly improved.

I'm not being cynical about this either - I want devs to take as long as they need to to get it right. and they're making the kinds of games I so I'll support them. it's just that when they hit 1.0 I'm not in a rush to try it. if the timing is right, sure. if not, I'll wait for the first revision.

Timing was right for me, and honestly I'm not sure I would prefer revisions more (except for game speed increases which would very much be appreciated). I know they're planning on adding more party members but Tides already has an issue with limited party size that they're probably not going to change - and the small party size actually screws some of your members out of completing their story arcs, even. I already felt bad enough leaving only 1-2 people behind!

i gave a lickatoad a nightshade berry from lottie's store and while it was choking i hit it with my shovel and it became a lackatoad

if not, i have an extra key from a humble monthly.

my favourite thing about flame in the flood is when you're riding down a river and the song playing is about riding down a river (as several songs on the soundtrack are). it makes you feel like a cool folk hero.
