The new year has informed me my mother is a basket case, my neighbor will never leave his house, my best friend is approaching that breakdown in life where you realize you need to grow up, and the other friend I used to see regularly is a completely different person than he was a year ago and thus doesn't get along with any of us anymore.

Not to say I don't have issues, I have a billion of my own, but I need to get away. It's beginning to feel unhealthy for not only me but a lot of the people I know to stay where I am. Clearly college will help a billion when I'm back on campus, but I definitely need to look at options to not go home this summer. I can't do it anymore.

New life goal: move to Seattle with my brother and start a business while I also play music at coffee shops forever and ever.

What part do you think is more difficult, the moving across the country thing, or the convincing someone to live with their 7 years younger brother? We work so well together, not only just standard sibling synergy, but he's really smart and knows how to run things but hates interaction and being in the spotlight while I love it and am great at taking direction from people that know what they're doing. Plus we both work in computer fields, well, he does, I'm just moderately good with computers. It'd be so fun though he's one of the last sane people in my family, plus I can crash the B8 Seattle scene and see how long it takes me to overstay my welcome in real life vs. online! I dunno, I've slept like 4 hours the last 2 days I'm a little loopy. I love you guys.

I somehow lost my wallet today. Not when I was insanely drunk yesterday, but today when it was a nice quiet day. So yay. Get to lose the hundreds I had on me,everything needed to steal my identity...already cancelled my credit card at least. This sucks so much.

The word of the day is perseveration: a psychological term that basically means having an incredibly hard time stopping something, whether it be an action, or maybe a word you keep throwing into sentences. Incredibly common in people on the spectrum.

Alternate definition: THE THING THAT HAS PRACTICALLY DEFINED AND SLIGHTLY RUINED MY ENTIRE FUCKING LIFE. DO YOU REALIZE HOW MANY NIGHTS I WOULD STAY UP UNTIL 4 OR 5 AM JUST PLAYING A GAME I HATED AND WASN'T ENJOYING JUST BECAUSE I COULDN'T BRING MYSELF TO STOP IT. IT'S MADDENING.

I may or may not be a pathetic individual that texted an old friend that treated myself and a lot of my friends like shit, because she may have broken up with her boyfriend and I may or may not have thought it as a great chance to reconnect with her.

Also I've had an anxious/hyperventilating breathing pattern nonstop for 2 weeks and I can't explain why. I'm not anxious, I just can't breathe right.

My wife has started her final semester of grad school. She has also started applying for jobs post graduation.

Once she finds a job we will almost certainly be moving (I'm in accounting so I can find work anywhere, its much tougher for her), probably to another state/part of the country. Its exciting but also very nerve wracking having no idea where we will be living in 6 months.

Today I start designing the final class cards for my card game. 20 to go for this class, then 60 neutral cards, then I start the fun part: transitioning them to reality. I still have almost no art, and none of my artist friends have shown any newfound interest, so that might start to become a problem, but honestly I just want my goal of 200 cards on release done. That's enough of an achievement for me right now.

Basically what I have right now is:

120 cards, 6 classes of 20 cards each
Mechanics and balance stats (to make sure I don't overtune a card, which is especially important for neutral cards that'll be more Health/Damage numbers and less unique abilities)

And what I need is:

80 cards, 1 class of 20 cards and 60 neutrals
200+ card/warrior/etc art
A name
Potentially an overhaul of my current card design, artistically speaking. I think the one I made last year is a little too childish

It's a long road to go but I'm honestly really excited. I have most of the backbone finished, I just need help making it look pretty.

That's great, I'll need all hands on deck for playtesting. I'm confident in my knowledge of TCG balance but even the best can have things slip through the cracks. It'll actually be probably the most fun finding the things that are so disgusting I need to immediately fix them, I've never been able to get into a game in it's early stages so I've never had that fun of discovery.

Definitely, it'd be nice to have a lot of different viewpoints. Less experienced people will be able to tell me how player-friendly and easy to pick up it should be, and more experienced will be able to find what's over/underpowered and have balance insight. It's been 6 months in the making, and will probably be another 6+, but I have put more thought and effort into this than any other project I've done in the past, so I won't be giving up on it lol

Glad things have been going well of late for you guys. :) I feel like I haven't been around much at all. Issues have been building up for me of late, a lot of work, personal, medical stuff all going into it. I may be going on an extended leave from work as of tomorrow until I can get things fixed up. I can't afford such a leave though. It's stressful, the stress just builds issues, it's been a cycle.


I don't mean to be vague. I've had back pain since the summer, got referred to an internalist back then as they discovered I had an enlarged heart relating to stress and poor quality of living. They refered me for a bunch of studies. One is supposed to be a sleep study since I mentioned I never slept great and that could exasperate stuff. Never got called the study, stress and anxiety from lack of sleep and work added to other issues, haven't really been functioning much lately. Glad things are well though!

Don't remember if I ever told the story of that party I went to last year where I ripped my jeans and that redhead who completely just shrugged me off all night even though we were handing out with the same people, but anyway yeah that was a thing that happened around Christmas.

Fast forward to tonight, I still try and be a part of that group, they meet weekly on Thursdays (big crowd, there's like 100 of them). I was going around talking to everyone I knew and forgetting most of their names because I'm an ass, and sure enough there's this redhead, sitting by herself. So, after much internal debate (yay overcoming anxiety!) I decided to walk over to her and saw hi/remember me? I end up sitting and chatting with her for a solid 15-20 minutes, and she was actually super cool. It actually did bother me a bit before when she ignored me, I know I'm no stud but the way I act usually at least gets people to say hey before they realize I'm painfully dull and move along. But hey that's behind me now. I found out she's into photography and graphic design, which I love even though I'm bad at photography, and overall it felt like I was actually getting to know someone I didn't know again, which I haven't done in forever. So tonight was good. Hopefully I don't forget her name again. I probably will. Baby steps.

Now the only irrational fear to squash is the potential that there's weird in-group shit going on I'd be inserting myself into. Done that too many times.

Eh I'm horrible at remembering peoples names.

Just get good at using generic things like "Hey man" and you can usually get around it. Or just say you are terrible with names and ask there name, most people don't care because a lot of people struggle with names.

But glad to hear you had a good time and a good talk with someone new!
