.... and I can safely say that it's just like Smash Bros.....

...except that it's far less fun.
I guess the goal is to get the most KOs, but I have no idea how you get KOs. There are no life bars or meters. Getting knocked off the side of the stage doesn't do much - you can get right back up. It seemed very random as to when people would suddenly disappear for a moment and then reappear from the top of the screen; and even hat didn't happen very often. The one surefire way there was to get a KO was to charge up your super-move meter to Level 3, by hitting people repeatedly, and unleash it.
8 characters and 4 stages were playable. Parappa is amusing as a character, but would ANYONE consider Fat Princess to be a Sony All-Star? Come on. I still have no idea who Radec is - is he really an All-Star? Oh, and I always thought Bioshock was mainly a 360 series with PS3 ports? I am rather skeptical of Sony's character choices here. For the recoed - I played about 7 or 8 rounds and each time the other human player (I played against multiple different people.) always picked Kratos. ALWAYS. Every time.
Overall, it was a pretty dull game demo and seriously dampened my enthusiasm for the game.

You can get a KO at any level of Super, but that's the way to do it right now. There are probably other options in the full game, or should be, at least.
They should have just gone all the way and taken Smash Bros. percentage system. It's not like they're being criticized less for not stealing that idea.
Ever since I read that Super = KOs, meaning all other fighting during the game is kind of pointless other than to just build up your Super, my enthusiasm for this game plummeted.

That's the problem I have with this game. Sony isn't exactly known for their characters. All of the best characters are from 3rd party games, and many of them have had appearances on other consoles by this point

well, that's really lame. Whichever character attacks fastest will always fill their meter the fastest and activate their super moves the most. That's kind of a lame winning system - just attack fast.

Sony don't really need to balance it properly- they know that, once it's released, hackers will finish development for them by creating homebrew patches to make it play exactly like Melee

err... no...
For the record I think this game is going to be trash, but if you honestly think that it's just going to be two people standing next to each other mashing the X button and jabbing for meter...
