Expected a blowout (10-15) against the mentally unprepared Thunder, but damn I didn't expect it to be so bad.
At least the NBA got the series it wants!
This has been a strange postseason. Boston takes the Heat to 7 after a worthless team takes them to 7, then the Heat just wipe the Thunder off the court in one of the quickest series of the playoffs.

The Heat are NOT a great team. I repeat NOT a great team. The 86 Celtics were a great team. They got scoring like this every night. They shared the ball every night.
The Miami Heat are winning for the same reason I picked them: Lebron James has reached 91 Jordan, 05 Kobe, 72 Wilt status: He is far and away the greatest player on the planet and he knows it.
Mike Miller is really hot. He's playing NBA Jams right now.

(And this is after the Thunder utterly dismantled the Spurs, too)

Chris Bosh not being there hurt. I keep having to remind people that he's a Top 15 player. Everyone makes a big deal about Wade taking less shots and what not but Chris Bosh is a 24/10 player on most teams in this league. He's sacrificed more than everyone else.

Again, he's sacrificed so damn much to be apart of this. But remember what happened when Wade was out? Bosh went off. Remember what happened when he was gone? The Heat looked awful until Lebron went Lebron.
This guy is an ELITE pick and roll defender(Read: Best in the league), plays solid defense around the rim, runs the floor, is a phenomenal jump shooter and now a pretty good 3 point shooter.
Replace Bosh with Amare and the Heat aren't as good and the Knicks are much better.

Bosh is 'sacrificing', yes, which means that no plays are run for him and he mostly just cleans up junk around the rim and hits jump shots. which he's great at, yes, but that's more of a role player's role. he's an afterthought in this offense.
which I think is too bad - I'd like to see him pick and roll more instead of just letting James and Wade do their thing. not that their thing is hurting them in the slightest this series.
anyway, I'm hoping for a rematch next year and the year after. i'd love to see these two teams go at it again. hopefully OKC learns from this series because god damn.

Bosh really isn't getting that much less ran for him. His usage rate isn't actually that much below his career numbers. 24.2% this season and 23.5% the year before, his career is 24.7%. Then again, it is a huge drop from his last year in Toronto (28.7%).

4 games ago we were discussing if Durant is the best player in the NBA.
Now? The idea seems ludicrous. Durant hasn't gotten worse, Lebron has just distanced himself from everybody and I mean EVERYBODY. The gap between him and everyone is like the gap between Shaq and everybody in 2000-2001. It's just amazing to watch great players be great.

Honestly, I don't think OKC has the super bright future people think, regardless of coaching.
They already have $62 million in committed salary for next season. Good think that neither Harden nor Ibaka are free agents next year, but aftewards when they both hit the market? Still $53 million in committed salary. How far are they willing to go into the luxury tax? How much of a cap burden will Perkins' contract will be?
What they should do first off is send the Pistons Cole Aldrich for one of our 2nd rounders to save some money >_>
