Well there isn't one.

But the second one, which was only released in Japan for GBC, has been FULLY translated at long last! No more devolving into random symbols after the tutorial, you can now understand every card, rule and line of dialogue.
http://artemis251.fobby.net/

Obviously, you need a real copy of the game which you dump by your own fair hand in order to apply the patch, but assuming we all have that lying around, enjoy!

Well, there technically is a new game. Everybody seems to forget this when they talk about Pokemon TCG games. Which is fair, since it's not that great, but it's weird.

Yeah, there's an official online version of the TCG. You can buy the online booster pack code cards on ebay for dirt cheap (like 10 packs for $4).

So apparently this "complete" one is a s***y babelfish or google translation. There's another guy that's been working on a legit one for quite some time and was at 90% complete but now that this just came out he got discouraged and quit, though he says if a lot of people ask him to continue then he might. I've used an incomplete version of this guy's translation and it was great, all the cards and battle messages were fully translated and he just had some dialogue left to do.

I started off by fighting a generic member of the rock club

I started with a single ponyta and picked up a rattata on turn one

He started with Snorlax, Aerodactyl, Kangaskhan, and immediately picked up a Rhyhorn.

...The ****.

Their decks have sure improved

He just retreated his Onix for no reason. I guess the AI hasn't

It takes a lot longer to get a halfway decent deck in this game. The opponents are much stronger, they give you less boosters, and...

Your opponents whip out some absurdly broken crap. For example, someone just evolved to Gengar and used its pokemon power to throw my 6 fire energy Ninetales back into my hand.

Basically it has a 50% chance to absolutely ruin you, and can even hit your active pokemon. I probably cannot win this match now.

And this may not even be the worst thing I've faced so far. They throw out 1st tier cards that can do 30s or 20s + status or invincibility right away. There's a Mankey that can do a *40*. A Mankey.

They actually made this a fair bit difficult with all the added BS. The opponents are simply stronger than you are, even most weenies. A lot more emphasis is placed on outfoxing the AI.

Fun Fact: Psychic Types still take 40 damage when hitting out of confusion, you think they'd fix that. Mewtwo just hammered itself

It was like that because confusion damage used to be considered attack damage. And since psychics are weak to psychic, the attack damage to them is doubled.

That rule was changed in the real card game forever ago.

It won me the match. Vulpix (Yes I had to restart from Vulpix) managed to confused Mewtwo which would otherwise OHKO it. Mewtwo then hit itself twice and killed itself, I evolved back to Ninetales and OHKO'd the overpowered Gengar at 4 enemy.

He then revived it, so I lured in his Gastly, Full Healed off the confuse and OHKO'd it. Then he threw out a 90 HP Alakazam (Meaning Ninetales couldn't OHKO).

I lured in his lolabra and popped a defender to stall a turn. He then switched back to his Alakazam and KO'd my Ninetales, but the next turn I put the 4th and final energy on CHARIZARD to OHKO the Alakazam for a win by a single prize (We were 1-1 at the end).

This game is not a pushover.

Oh, and after all that, I wasn't even given a booster pack.

So I just spent that entire drawn out fight for nothing.

Side-note: Holy crap Murray's deck is bad. I just soloed all 6 of his guys with a Charander/Charmelon from the start of the match with no bench (I needed only one potion too), and only 2 of the 7 things he put on the field could do any decent damage.

I evolved to Charizard on the final turn just to OHKO an annoying Lickitung.

I played the "partial" translation a long time ago. It was enough that all of the cards and the important parts of other things were translated, and the only time that I got stuck was in some room near the end where you had to do a certain thing/have a certain type of deck in order to challenge the person.

But it's been a while so maybe I should play it again. I could try using different decks.

Yugioh Eternal Duelist soul cheats in the most amazing way. You play a face down card. If it's useless, the computer attacks. If it's not, the computer doesn't attack until it can get rid of it. It's so open about how much it cheats it's actually kind of refreshing.

I've actually bought the last 2 YGO games for the DS (2012 and 2011), they're fun little distractions

playing YGO in real life is just a huge waste of money and it's a hassle meeting people who even play the game. being able to make basically any deck you want for 30 dollars and duel and against a nearly unlimited supply of opponents is a pretty great value.

That was the game I think.

Once you hit tier 3 the computer knows all your face down cards, but it isn't programmed to specifically plan for most traps.

Wall of Illusion and Man Eater Bugs were so good. Ultimate Offering was absurdly broken when used as a trap.

It seems that computers are more susceptible to being cardstalled because the game just doesn't understand

He had a Kangaskhan fetch down to 8 cards (The other game they stop at 13/14) after my Ponyta knocked it to 10 HP left.

He then proceeded to make a monster lineup behind this Kangaskhan while I tested the game and sat there doing literally nothing for like 20 turns.

Basically everything he had behind this thing could OHKO the Ponyta (I put nothing else on the field), but he refused to give the nearly dead Kangashan energy, and even wasted his double colorless ones (Which would have allowed it to retreat)

I remember the first game being more responsive to getting card killed.
