not really. if memory serves, Japanese tourneys can't offer money as a prize. also, most Japanese tourneys are single elimination, first to 1. you show up, you lose two rounds, you go home. Godsgarden is the one exception that US players should try to go to. Justin's gone over there on occasion but there it just isn't very viable.

well it's 3 on 3, it'd be silly if it was anything else. also with a game like 3s one game is probably okay. maybe not for games where the outcome can be more random, like Marvel 3 or whatever. in any case most of the good US players didn't think Evo was even worth bothering with, and only a few Japanese high level players entered every year. SBO was what mattered in that game and it was a big deal when Gootecks and Justin finally actually got the US out of the first round.
