Right, and those types of matches used to be special and something to look forward to. Now it will just be overkill on them and the interest just won't be there.
I'm not sure I understand you. The randomized conferences had plenty of "strong vs weak" matchups. We've had conferences where one or two characters/games dominate everyone as predicted. I wouldn't call that special or something to look forward to.

But in this scenario, you get hectic battles for supremacy in conferences like Smash Bros. and Metal Gear ACE, while smaller fish get a chance to shine in conferences like Shadow Bombplex and Tales of Democracy, Ho! And there's also some interesting midcard/wildcard battles in conferences like No-Life 2: Effect 3 and Nintendo Power.

There are still plenty of matches to look forward to.

It just seems any Cinderellas will now be regulated to those two conferences to me, just how I look at it. I liked the other way better, just my opinion on one way versus the other.

Well yeah, not what I meant to imply. Tidus just is very polarizing on this board and has vocal hate groups. That isn't much different from the general populous I suppose; he never really lives up to expectations in polls. He's actually probably more popular on this board than in general, maybe.

Doing pretty good against what many believe is the best character of the current generation is nothing to be ashamed of; Tidus should still have a good season.

I'm not sure I'd go that far yet.

Well, now that ME3 is out, maybe. But 38% on Pikachu in 2010 isn't as impressive as people seem to make it out to be.

38% on Pikachu vs. 46% on Sub-Zero itself doesn't imply Shep > Tidus, but a combination of ME3, Western rise, and Final Fantasy falling off makes me confident in Shep.

It was a tight match, but Rikku should have won. It bodes ill for Square as a whole. ME better be an absolute beast for there to be any salvaging this (Rikku was in the top 25 at times last season).

Aw, Vivi lost. He still deserves a ranking, though. It's beyond me why Knuckles didn't kick off the season in the Top 25. He's nearly as popular as Sonic on the board, right?
