best way to do final 5 is instant runoff voting: everybody ranks the five songs from 1 to 5, song with the least "first place" votes is eliminated and the process continues until there's one song w/ majority of votes.
That way you could have vote totals in the first round be like, 10-8-6-5-2 but if the people who had the lower-scoring songs ranked #1 had the song with 8 votes ranked #2 then it ultimately wins in the end. Truly the fairest system! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting#Process

I'm curious to see how things shake out. I don't believe in Cosmo Canyon's strength so I may be off there. Main Theme is my fav so I'll root for that the entire way. Hope for some dark horses, maybe "The Nightmare Begins"... there is just so much quality, anything can happen.
I hate that "Trail of Blood" is going against Highwind though, I think it could've upset some other top seeds...

Yeah, both "Infiltrating Shinra" and "Who Am I?" are awesome atmospheric pieces that really don't deserve this kind of beating.

but that's just the strength of the soundtrack, that's just how it is... put either of those two songs against Farm Boy or Cinco de Chocobo and I'd probably vote for them. Them are the breaks!
