Do you wish Rare never sold out in 2002 and just stayed with Nintendo? Just think of all the possible games that could have been made.

people tend to be anti-sell-out in general. if something remains good, it isn't as readily labeled as "sold out"

They wouldn't have made anything anyways, that's why they left Nintendo

By that point, weren't most of the people involved in all the great games gone?

I wish Microsoft would keep using them. They made three great games with Microsoft (Nuts and Bolts, the two Viva Pinatas)... I wish they'd be given the opportunity to do more than avatar and Kinect junk now. Let them do an XBLA Conker game or something.

The primary reason Microsoft bought out Rare was so Nintendo couldn't use them.

A lot of people had left the company between 1998 and 1999, before Microsoft even started courting them. Most notably the people most responsible for Goldeneye007 formed Free Radical that made the TimeSplitters series. As I understand it, most of those people still did the a good deal of the development for Perfect Dark before leaving, which is why that one still turned out fine.

I don't know why they couldn't do decent platformers for the next generation, but I can only assume it was a similar situation.
