Short version:

If you provoke him at all, you lose the right to claim self-defense. Like if you say "HEY S*** JEDI" he attacks you and you kill him, you still don't get away with it. Don't even bother trying to exploit the rule.

I don't think he's a real Jedi, I think he's some kind of fanboy or some watered down version of a Jedi that just knows how to do one cheap trick

...Know what? EXECUTIVE DECISION. I thought the rule could be useful in making the game less exploitable but that was dumb. Self-defense is no longer a valid defense. You kill, you are the culprit THE END.
