I auditioned for singer, first rehearsal they said they really liked me, second one they said it didn't really work, that my style didn't fit them

make a competing band, schedule all your shows at the same time as theirs, at the venue across the street.

if you didn't match their style then it wouldn't benefit you either man, consider it a blessing that this was realized before it began and move onto a better situation

Sorry man. Musicians can be dicks like that sometimes... I was in a band for five years, and found that musicians are typically:

A) Awesome, chill people who are a blast to rock with.
B) The scum of the earth.

They rarely fall in between those categories, and it's about a 50-50 split.

Yeah that's true. I liked their songs but they said they didn't like my vocal style for their genre, and I don't wanna switch it up just for them. They were really cool guys tho, had a lot of fun drinking with them and ****ing around so that sucks a bit

I literally had no creative control though because their guitarist wrote the lyrics, vocal line and melodies for 5 songs before I even came in. They were good songs tho, I enjoyed them. But oh well

also it was kind of 60/70s rock mixed with indie pop. Nothing too special but they were good musicians.

Amazing idea haha. I would do this if people around my age actually played the instruments I wanted >_>

I'm looking for a double bassist, trumpet, violin and what not for my own project and that's really hard. So I just decided to audition for this semi 'normal' rock/indie band that was still really good and it ended up being nothing. Oh well, still have my life ahead of me I guess!

Haha! Disregard my post then. Being kind of jaded, I guess I just assumed they were dicks from the OP.

Good luck finding a band, man. Band life has its ups and downs, but I definitely don't regret it.
