Their explanation makes sense, I think it should get some good ratings. Hopefully good enough. Fairy Tail mentioned? Awesome.

Also...

DeMarco also mentioned that One Piece was a personal favorite of his, and that he’d love to see it back on Cartoon Network. Watching unedited One Piece on Toonami would be the stuff of dreams.

No. The original ends at a terrible point that resolves no plotlines whatsoever.

Final Act is the end of the Manga (They probably skipped some) and is probably even worse than the original.

Its the traditional 26 episode 1 season thing.

Wonderland is a show that is pretty interesting at first, but then you realize it's only a 11... or 12 (i forget) episode show and there is no way they can do it any sort of justice.

Oh it's also extremely gory, and virtually every character is crazy. It's at the point where I wonder how they will handle airing it.

I wish they didn't drop InuYasha. I was in the midst of rewatching it, and they were just about to get to the Band of Seven. I guess I'll check out the two new shows, but I don't see the difference between this iteration of Toonami and the Adult Swim it's replacing.

I loved Gundam Wing growing up, though not so much anymore. Cartoon Network also aired the original Mobile Suit Gundam, and I didn't like it at all.

i would highly recommend watching 1st gig. 2nd gig is a complete story of its own, but knowing the setting and characters will really help

Didn't One Piece get canceled by 4Kids and get canceled on Toonami too? I remember it being in the Toonami block, but not for very long before they quit airing it.

One Piece had impressive ratings when FUNimations dub began airing there actually, only slightly edited for the TV version (wont be needed on AS!). CN doesn't treat non-toyetic shows that aren't their own very good though. One Piece is far from the only show to fall like that.

Huh, if it had impressive ratings I figured it would have been on Toonami longer. It only went through a few episodes of that arc with Crocodile and then it vanished. By the end of Toonami I just remember Naruto filler hell being the only anime they had for a couple months.

They were not some of the best, but they were good and better than many other series the network chooses to treat much better. Naruto did better, yes. It stayed on Toonami until its end where it went down with it. The other slots were given to reruns of mostly their own shows though (Ben 10, Samurai Jack etc.).

One Piece ran through Skypiea and only left CN when Toonami went down.
