Because I've watched pretty much every other show I wanted to on Netflix and needed something to watch while playing and browsing on my pc.

Idk. I didn't despise the rest of the seasons like most everyone did, and I have a feeling that being able to watch them straight through will lessen the whole "wait forever for a new episode" bad feelings I had when the show was airing.

It'll still be "awww...why'd they do that..." but it won't be as bad.

Season 1 was great stuff

Never understood why it was so hated. Season 1 was great, and the rest just weren't as good. I've seen much worse TV, and I do not regret watching it until the end. The only part I truly found "bad" was the first half of season 3 (AKA Volume 3). I actually really enjoyed parts of Volume 4. Especially the flashbcks with young Angela and her sister. It wrapped up in a really weird way because they probably needed more time to end things the way they wanted.. but again, it wasn't even close to being one of the worst shows on TV.

the writers' strike killed all the momentum it had with it happening just as season 2 was about to begin leading to an incredibly rushed season

didn't bother after that and everybody says it was all downhill from there

it never did have much of any good acting, though so it was already limited in how good it could be

Heroes season 1 is one of the best TV series ever. And it works just fine as a stand-alone.

It really wasn't, it bottomed out in Volume 3 and then it was actually UPHILL from there until the end of the show.

It just never got very far up that hill. <_<

Carnies were better than every other villain besides V1 Sylar and V4 Danko.

And I still like Volume 5 better than Volume 4 even if the villain isn't as good.

This would be one of them. Ignoring everything after S1 is fine, but at least don't pretend it's its own series.

But even then, way too much of the season dragged on for it to be among the best. There are a few episodes that you can make a case for best episodes of a TV series ever, but way too many of them try to address way too much and get nothing worthwhile done in the process.

I saw "Five Years Gone" as my first Heroes episode, which inspired me to watch the first season, which was great. Not great in a "Breaking Bad" way, but great in a "Taken" way in that it was great entertainment and I could look past the flaws.

Then it sucked from then on out. Finally quit mid-season 4, just about the first TV show that ever I stopped watching after regularly watching for more than a year.

It didn't help that just about the only guy who could act was killed off every season

Adam Monroe was the only new character post-S1 that was worth anything and they botched that entirely.

Pffft Sylar was awful, probably the single worst villain ever. Everything he does is just so...exaggerated.

Sylar was a great villain in the first season, but like every character in the entire show, was totally ruined by the end. The characters basically had no actual personality/consistency and seemed to just be pawns for making shocking things happen after the first season. it was especially bad with sylar because at first he was terrifying and mysterious...by making him a main character we see ALL THE TIME he became much less compelling.

like alec, i also quit midway through season 4. and also agree that adrian pasdar was the best actor. nathan was one of the only characters i really still enjoyed the whole way through. well, adam as well, but he wasn't around nearly as much.
