Stupid ass government couldn't find a solution to the protests so he decided to just suspends current semester and push back everything, why? No idea, probably just want to wait for the people protesting to tire or something. Only thing it means for me is that my semester will last half as long as supposed so I'll have twice as many class in much less time, that's pretty damn terrible for my grades.
Also it's pretty cool, the government is starting to label the students as terrorists since a bunch of people threw smoke bombs in the metro stations of Montreal.
But then it wasn't even people affiliated with the students associations who did this, more like people who just use the current troubles as a pretext to do stuff like this.
From: Zachnorn | #012 Yeah, if everyone does poorly due to an excessive workload, then you doing poorly wouldn't matter much.
Maybe, but even if my grades aren't affected the knowledge I'd get would probably not be of as good quality as the knowledge I'd get out of a normal semester.
I don't merely want to pass my classes, I want to get something out of it that's more than a diploma.
Also there is lots of talk about a legislation that'd make hiding your face during protests illegal. Could get as much as a 10-year sentence for this.
And murderers get often less than 5 years, lol this world.
From: foolm0ron | #015 Maybe you guys should stop rioting over every little thing and try some peaceful protest?
They are actually peaceful protests, the acts of violence are caused by a minority of people and those people are shunned by the other protesters for doing do.
The students association ask their members time and time again to protest peacefully and ignore any kind of provocation from the police or anybody else.
Because of a minority of people the whole population is punished, extremely severely.
