Whoa Whitney's still kicking.

Also this doesn't seem right since Apprentice is usually an alternating thing where it goes Normal -> celebrity. They usually film Celebrity Apprentice in October/November so it seems weird that it'd be up again.

It's more entertaining anyways though so I hope it's actually true.

They don't do regular Apprentice anymore. They tried it again two years ago and the ratings were awful, so it's Celebrity only from now on.

I will say that Thursday's layout makes as much sense as they could hope for it to make. P&R will do well in the late slot, and 30 Rock in its last season is a great fit for the Russian front that is the 8pm slot. I probably would have flipped The Office and Up All Night around for the same reason, but it doesn't make for good synergy >_>

Guys

Community on Fridays is comparable to Fringe. Small, devoted audience that *should* move with it. Fringe got another 37 or so episodes of renewals after being moved to Fridays at 9. Friday at 8 might be fine.

friday is where shows go to die

it may have been up against the BBT before but it isn't like it is going to do better now. less people watch TV on friday, especially young people. it might be "okay", but it isn't like this is going to be an improvement or a good thing....I mean, I know I personally won't be watching it live on friday nights as much as I would be on thursday.

Whitney and Community couldn't possibly be any less compatible. That's a recipe for disaster, plain and simple.

Personally, I'd pair Community with Go On on Tuesdays, and I'd leave Whitney on Fridays; move it to 8:30 that day, and air Up All Night before it. I think those shows seem pretty compatible, and Up All Night would be the better choice to kickstart that night. The New Normal, then, would move to Thursdays at 8:30, after 30 Rock; which I don't think would be a bad idea either. Thursday needs some new blood, and 30 Rock and New Normal seem fairly compatible.

Alternatively, if NBC's dead-set on leaving Community on Fridays, put it at 8 and air The New Normal after. Then, move Whitney to Wednesdays at 8 or 8:30 (paired with Guys With Kids), and put Animal Practice on after Go On.

Also, I have to say: NBC's new comedies actually sound quite good for the most part. Guys With Kids sounds pretty generic (though I do like Anthony Anderson), and I'm not sold on The New Normal, but Go On and Animal Practice could potentially be excellent. Especially since Animal Practice has Honeybee (from Black Dynamite)!!

The logic is that since no new viewers will ever watch Community, they may as well put it on Friday where the loyal viewers will follow it since SOMETHING has to be on Fridays.

Meh, I'm fine with Fridays. Less competition from BBT and all. And isn't this what they did with Chuck as well? Or was that move done before S5?

Only part that sucks about this is it breaks up the Thursday Community/30 Rock/Office/Parks and Rec/The League/Archer/Always Sunny block from last Fall; definitely got some friends into Community this last year through that. Also, I won't be able to drunkenly Hulu it on Thursday night; I'll have to be lucky on Friday night.

Also, f*** Brians Williams. I despise him.

1-5

If you're REALLY strict, 2-3.

Then if you like it you should watch through Season 7 because the back end of 7 is great too.

It was moved to Friday because it was already announced as a final season, and its ratings no longer mattered. They didn't want it taking up a better timeslot.

Does anyone else think that NBC should just face reality and stop trying to put comedies on Thursdays at all (or at least from 8-9)? The Voice is actually doing well enough to go up against a slowly but surely waning American Idol while not having as much direct competition with TBBT as a scripted show. Sure it would have been stupid to start in that timeslot this year, but it could actually do well now and dig into their competition.

I mean, I know they want to relive the glory days of Must See Thursdays, but at come point you just have to cut your losses. Of course they're probably too afraid of The Voice's ratings going down at all to risk actually competing with their competitors.
