Of the games I've played, gut reaction is Hammer Bro Suit. Although the Ice Flower from the fangame Super Mario Bros. X is pretty borked.

I was always a big fan of the Tanooki Suit when I was younger... but now I'm more fond of the Frog suit since it's just so dumb. I don't think I've ever found it useful. Also, the Penguin Suit in NSMBW was incredibly fun.
