Holy **** this show is incredible. I don't think I've ever watched more than 6ish hours of TV at once, but I just never seemed to get tired because every episode is so damn good. It's 6:00 in the morning now... but I think I'm just going to go ahead and start on season 2.

I've been meaning to start watching it since I've heard nothing negative except some people getting angry that Catelyn is portrayed differently or something, and I'm pretty much in love with the books.

It's funny because no one was actually a Catelyn fan in the first place, but some people whine at any deviation from the books.

Season 2 is having more deviations from the books, but I think that was inevitable since a story with as many characters really can't be compressed into TV very easily.

Though I've always liked Catelyn, even before the show.

No amount of planning will ever replace dumb luck.

The creators confirmed the deviations would really start to show this year and from what the book readers have told me, that became incredibly apparent last night.

Which was the best night of the new season thus far, so... Cool!

The deal with Catelyn is that she was more manipulating and influential and s*** in the books but became just a worried mother in the series. Apparently, anyways. Same person said they're doing Brienne really well, though.

I've always liked Catelyn too. She's one of my favorite characters in the books.

I like Cat too. I think she gets much hate because her chapters are usually pretty 'uneventful' so people find her boring, but she's a well fleshed out character so yeah

I disagree. Awesome chapters, boring character. I don't hate her though.

Yeah, I agree that Cat is better in the show.

Overall I like the books a LOT more, but there are some characters that are better in the show. Cat and Bronn are two obvious ones.

Bronn just took longer to shine in the books. But he's easily as good or even better in the books I'd say.
