When I was young I got stuck at the part where you had to collect the pieces (I didn't know that the whistling got louder as you got closer). I beat the game when I was 7, I think.

I remember reading that the game was originally supposed to be the first in a series of games, and that the door in the cave was supposed to lead to the next game (underwater). Also, there was supposed to be more stuff to do, like being able to actually build stuff outside of vehicles, but since the developers didn't meet the original deadline, the entire team got fired after the game was completed.

And the scene when you lose to the brickster is insanely depressing, almost made me cry.
