I beat one of the Touhous on Normal, I think it was Scarlet Devil, but it took the full amount of credits

that's as good as I feel like getting

I've never beaten Aero Fighters 2 because the final level has to be beaten on a single credit, if you continue then the level starts over

It's a genre in which most of its "fans" don't even actually play the games, so by actually doing so, you're better than a huge ****ing chunk of them.

even if you're not that great at the game, the biggest difference between 'dies at stage one repeatedly' and 'gets halfway through the game on hard' is deciding when to use your bombs

i suck at the game but playing on lunatic and seeing how far I can get off one continue is just too much fun

Because it's not like it's hard to unlock Extra in that game since there isn't a difficulty limit on it, the non boss parts of the stage aren't really difficult, and many of the cards are more about knowing the gimmick to them than skill.

I've only 1cc'd Lotus Land Story on normal, and that's probably the easiest game in the series, and the next closest is getting up to Remila's last spell card on normal on one credit in EoSD.
