I never said sign ups were closed in the other topic, so if you still want to participate, just state what district you want to be in and i'll put you in. You have 24 hours ish, before i start writing the first set of chapters. I will state when sign ups are closed.

After watching The Hunger Games last week I automatically got an idea for a Board 8 project (because i'm just that cool). We've had countless Battle Royale story topics and this will run along similar lines but with a few differences and twists.
If you don't know what The Hunger Games is, its basically, put a load of people in a large battle arena, and one emerges victorious after all the others are dead.
I actually wish to make this a recurring thing, this being the first Board 8 Hunger Games of hopefully many.
First off... We need a selection of participants.
There will be 5 districts participating, and two users from each district will be randomly selected to take part within The Hunger Games.
As i wish to make this more than just a one time thing (And i hope to get more than 10 sign ups >_>) The district you sign up for will be your district 4 LIFE. Even if you dont get selected to compete this time round, you will still get a part within the story.
The districts, for story purposes, will go from richest to poorest, District 1 being the wealthiest of the districts, and District 5 being the poorest.
After signups I will randomly select 2 from each district to compete. There will then be chapters, and users shall be eliminated based on decisions they make during the game. I will basically Private Message each user asking a question regarding their current status within the game, and their answer can then determine survival or death. Luck and randomness though will also play a part. As well as private messages there may be a question in the story topic too for everyone to answer.
Everyone will have 3 days to answer their specific question, so it doesnt you require to be ridiculously active, but at least be online once every 3 days, if you are selected.
I'll undoubtedly add other little things in as i think of them once the story gets going, but for now all i require are District Sign ups.
To sign up, merely just a simple *Sign* will not do, Please specify which District you wish to be a part of. Once you decide on your district, you cannot change it, so choose well!!!
Any ideas for improvements to this idea are more than welcome so please share them if you have any.
The country of Contestia was once a vibrant and prosperous nation. For years it was ruled by the mighty King Link and his subordinates without much question. As time passed though, the citizens of Contestia began to grow weary of King Link’s rule. People started talking, feeling Link was getting power hungry, and the country’s economy and general welfare of its citizens was beginning to decline. The people wanted change, they wanted someone new, but under the current regime, that was not possible.
Then came the rebellion. One man had had enough and began to gather civilians that felt the same way as him, and they began to plot to overthrow the government. That man’s name… was Ell Block. Along with his right hand man Jay Solano, they stormed the capital city of Bordate with an incredible civilian force on their heels and succeeded in capturing the throne. King Link managed to escape, but Ell Block didn’t care, he was King now.
Ell Block’s reign lasted a year, until he was tragically assassinated by an unknown gunman on the anniversary of his appointment as ruler. Before anyone knew what was happening, Link had charged in to the capital with the remainder of his Royal Guard and loyal followers, and he took the throne back.
Link had had more supporters than the general civilian population had originally thought, and in hindsight it seemed inevitable for King Link to regain the throne at some point.. Link killed Jay Solano as he regained the throne and the rebellion was officially over. Without their leaders, the civilians scattered or were forced out of the city and back to their homes.
King Link decided to seal the capital city of Bordate off from the rest of the country, and split the remainder of the land in to 5 separate districts. District 1, aside from the capital, was the wealthiest of the districts, and District 5 the poorest, where inhabitants were at an everyday struggle just to put food on their plate at the end of the day.
The King didn’t care though, he had no sympathy anymore for the rebels. He had become ruthless and unforgiving, and to stamp his authority even more, exert his power, and strike fear into the citizens of Contestia, he created The Hunger Games…

It would be cool if Ayv did a chapter having to do with the training center and gave the tributes a few choices that might determine their training score, which in turn could give them an advantage or a disadvantage in the games themselves. It could be something just as simple as bragging rights, or like this tribute scored a 10 so they're able to more easily grab a weapon from the cornucopia, or find water, or something like that.
Just a thought.

This is a great idea. Basically i was gonna do the first 5 chapters on each of the districts, who gets selected etc. Then a chapter about TV interviews so you can get a view on peoples personas (I would message the participants some interview questions, and then i would give their answers in the chapter, could be pretty funny), and the yeh i'll figure out some sort of training chapter and give points to each person which will give them an edge in the games.

The Hunger Games was a simple premise. Satanically simple. Every year each district offered up two people to participate in the game. These people were known as “Tributes”. These ten competitors were then put in to large open arena and were made to battle it out until just one person is left alive. Participants are chosen at random from each district, so everyone is at risk. If you are crowned the winner however, you and your family are given the option to move to a lavish house within the capital city, and are given a large sum in prize money. The King describes it as a great honour to win the games and shows his decent nature to award such a prize… But everybody knows its just a way for him to show who has the ultimate power within the country. The Districts understandably do not share his view, except a few families within Disticts 1 and 2, who pride themselves on breeding and training winners for the Games, in order to live an even richer life than they already do. As for the poorer districts, they live in fear when that time of the year rolls around again, and they all gathe within their respected district squares, in front of the city hall, and hope to God their name isn’t called out.
The Hunger Games have gotten bigger year after year, shown across the nation on every TV screen, and now with a regular talk show, its bigger than ever. Civilians of each district can now help their District representatives within the Games themselves through various tasks, but this gives those in Districts 1 and 2 a distinct advantage, as we all well know, money makes the world go round…
The Games are now entering their 11th year. A representative from District 1 has won 6 times, District 2 have had 3 winners, and a member of District 4 won the 5th ever Contestia Hunger Games in a truly shock result, but it did bring significant amounts of hope to the lower districts.
Draw Day, as it is now known, for district participants in this years Games is just round the corner, and many already are dreading their name being called out… But the districts all have populations within the thousands… So may the odds, be ever in your favour…

Even if you DONT get selected this time in the Games you do stuff.
If you do get selected, i will be PM'ing you after each chapter giving you a selection of choices and stuff you can do which will effect you in the next chapter.
In short, yes, you will be doing stuff, its not just another random elimination story. Although in some parts randomness and luck will play a part.

Well it would... but District 1 and 2 are cheaters who send people who are more than prepared to win, as evidenced by the the score so far. As in the novels and the movie, the lower districts fear for their tributes' lives.

But why...
If district 5 has really poor people who barely get by, then why do they care about other people? Caring about their tributes implies a sense of community, which would make it less hard to get by in life.

Being poor has naturally given us greater instincts than the wealthier districts. This means we'll figure out what to do in a life-threatening situation in less time than the other tributes, giving us an advantage.
I give a hearty chuckle to the districts that think their poverty will lend them an advantage in the games. Good luck getting your malnourished, over-worked bodies to defeat our healthy, trained physiques. I'm surprised folks from District 5 can even stand up straight in a strong wind. Ha
