CommodoreTN posted... Damn good deal. Not sure why you'd get plum wine though, that is one of my least favorite wines in the world. Solid choice on the salmon roe though.
Is it more of an acquired taste or did you like it the first time around?
For me, it was FAR too sweet. I'm a huge fan of the red wines, especially the more bitter ones. I'll drink white, fruity wine, but I can't handle too much. I thought plum wine was one of the sweetest I've ever had.

I think it was acquired. I'm in the same boat as you. At first it was just too damn sweet but I gradually came to like that about it. Definitely wasn't expecting a red wine that sweet the first time around though!
Personally I am not a fan of the Dark Reds. I went to a few wineries and did some tastings and I really wanted to enjoy the Ports I was trying but just couldn't. When it comes to win I enjoy a nice dry Riesling.
Where do you live? That plays a huge role in how expensive sushi is to get it at a high quality. I'm landlocked in KY/TN, so sushi here is gonna cost a f***ing fortune to get stuff thats actually good.
From: PurpleMonkDish | #011 I go for all you can eat sushi on occasion and have almost that much, and it's $25, and that's on their weekend evenings when it's most expensive.
From: TheOceIot | #012 Yeah, I usually just go to an all you can eat place for $15-20.
Sushi PizzaChoice of tuna, salmon, yellowtail on top of scallion pancake and seaweed salad with spicy sauce.
I get the SUshi Pizza with a mix of all three fish. OMG, its the greatest thing ever. I've been to other places that claim to have a Sushi Pizza but none of them compare to U-Yee's.
I've been going out to this sushi buffet on my birthday for four years now. It's normally around $35, but it's half off on your birthday. It's pretty much my favorite restaurant.
It's actually quite delicious. I mean, sure you can get better, but I'm thinking you're still overpaying. If that meal would normally cost over $100, that's ludicrous.

Live in the midwest and all you can eat sushi is generally crap (I'm talking about $20 for all you can eat). I'll eat it one every so often as it'll hit the spot, but compared to the $2-3 a piece sushi restaurants the quality isn't good at all.
As far as plum wine goes, the other thing to consider is you don't really drink plum wine like you do a red or white wine. The stuff is delicious though.

There's this sushi you can get at my school and it's... not bad for like a school. I mean they actually have real people making it and everything. But even so it's overpriced for the quality.
It's too bad good sushi here is hard to get. I miss living in NY.
Sometimes living in Fresno has its advantages. We have some sizeable ethnic communities here and as a result I have a handful of excellent choice establishments if I want some quality sushi.
