So clearly the premise of this one is that Twilight Sparkle is going to have to choose which friend she takes with her. The drama should be delicious, much like that apple was before Spike inhaled it.
Rainbow Dash is such a low tier character. Napping instead of helping out with the apple stuff. Also what a troll. Apples the Pony is greedy (or wanting to be helpful depending on the spin) while Rainbow Dash is a clear example of a sinful amount of pride.
Twilight Sparkle is such a failure at decision making. The lives of many versus the dream of one. Spock would seriously be flipping his s*** right about now.
Okay so my vote is for Pinkie Pie if she promises to keep singing. How cute. No really that was amazingly precious. Pinkie Pie for main character tbh.
Rarity yawn what a boring pony someone please make her stop. Seriously this is so bad my vote is still with Pinkie Pie. Also she is hating on Pinkie Pie someone should jack her up. Maybe Applejack.

Premise was pretty bad and not as strong as the last episode although Pinkie Pie remains strong.
Episode starts with Pinkie Pie this is going to be my favorite episode so far. Bold prediction.
Rainbow Dash being annoyed at Pinkie Pie completely proving that Rainbow Dash is terrible. Haha, she slammed into a mountain this pleases me. It is amazing how Rainbow Dash just keeps digging her grave deeper and deeper. The Doctor Doom that has taken up residence in my mind is already looking forward to the glorious torture that he shall inflict upon this fool.
Also how can they even see Rainbow Dash up there that is not how clouds are supposed to work I object to the physics of this.
Pinkie Pie being faster than Rainbow Dash is just like the old Looney Toons skit with the skunk oh god Pinkie Pie just keeps getting better and better. The hopping, sound effects and all, are simply slaying me.

Pinkie Pie with the balloons keeps just being honest. I just like how cheerful and nice she is all the time while being completely funny. Either her or Fluttershy is going to start displaying serial killer tendencies, you can’t have two very nice archetypes in the same show I think.

Pinkie Pie just keeps getting better and better. I like how her statements can both be generically nice and amazingly subtle threats unto themselves. (Post Episode note: It was staring me in the face but I didn't want to believe it.)

I like how she is having what I affectionally refer to as a Von Karma breakdown she is claiming she has not lost her cool. Good job.
Oh plot twist I gave Pinkie Pie too much credit. Or rather she is awesome and totally sweet and not as devious as I thought. Well that’s a bit of a shame. Okay I was going to have to have Pinkie Pie as 1 AND 2 on my rankings so it goes to show that even top tier characters can’t steal the entire show.
Okay well Rainbow Dash had a bit of a redeeming episode but she’s still the worst pony. I might have a little more mercy at this juncture when I feed her to Doom though.
First thing on my screen is Spike. This should be a good episode. Spike has a crush on Rarity. I think this was mentioned in the first two episodes but I had forgotten about it since it has been awhile. He is right though, that is a sweet mustache.
Twilight Sparkle’s two lines in this opening are the most likable she has been so far. Hopefully she stops failing and becomes likable. Also it has taken me five episodes to realize when the ponies are blushing but I’ve got it on lockdown now I think. When I pause a scene to write something if I do it at the right time Twilight looks super pissed even though she has a pretty neutral look on her face because her eyes seem narrowed when she is just batting her eyelashes. That was random of me I know.
Oh dear Trixie is a bit of a show off huh. Judging by title this episode is going to be about her being a fake and Twilight Sparkle being victorious.
Spike is so amazing while Rarity just looks completely confused. It is okay Rarity, maybe someday you will understand just how awesome Spike is.
Rainbow Dash’s arrogance is making me want to pause and write a Doom story here and now. Applejack with the glare; I appreciate that.
Okay while Rainbow Dash sucks Trixie is doing this right. She is hilarious. It is that smirk. Or maybe it is the cape, I have always loved capes. Like the wizard’s hat too. Also it helps to know that she is not going to be a main character. Main characters can’t afford to have arrogant and annoying gimmicks it gets too boring too fast.
Also the great and powerful Trixie is amazing. She is a great troll.
Also prediction: She kicks the other pony’s asses because they are way too ready to fight and then Twilight Sparkle finally has enough and completely dismantles her. I act as if this is some hard prediction to make, mind you.
Rainbow Dash finds a way to be annoying even when she is trying to combat someone annoying. So gross. Rainbow at the end was impressive though.
Also perhaps a bit of a nitpick at a children’s cartoon show but she isn’t actually doing anything better than the ponies. She’s just making them look bad.
But she did zap the worst pony so Trixie is awesome.

…Green haired pony’s reaction to Rarity’s reaction about green hair is amazing. That was good.
I guess she isn’t a fake like I first thought. At least, not completely.
Dumb minions are a good use of the trope.

Okay so this is more serious than I thought the episode would be but Twilight is still going to show Trixie up so I guess that works out.
Do not think it has escaped my notice the complete lack of Pinkie Pie by the way. I am disappointed as hell in this episode.
Oh holy hell Twilight is broken as hell. Dumb as rocks, but broken as hell. And then she apologizes. Dumb as rocks indeed.
Oh and don’t think Pinkie Pie’s half a second of screen time appeased me. I do not approve.
This appears to be a Fluttershy episode by the name and the opening scene which has Fluttershy spitting at birds for them to eat worms. How precious.
This bunny is quite epic. Also when Fluttershy is dumb it is cute and precious, when Twilight is dumb it is annoying. Be more cute Twilight and maybe you might have a future as a top two pony. I doubt it though. Big scary smoke out of nowhere is going to be the plot for this episode it seems. I am guessing this will involve a dragon.
Also I know Fluttershy has a small voice but the other ponies should really at least notice her.
Oh crap Pinkie Pie wanting to celebrate yes this episode is now already better than the last one.
Pinkie Pie’s manic grin is great. Also Fluttershy’s quiet voice is hilarious when Twilight just is like “hey listen” and there you go. Poor Fluttershy needs to work on her public speaking.
Also the princess should actually be a queen this actually bothers me.
Rainbow Dash being terrible again trying to break priceless artifacts. Although I will say that this episode is a bit more focused on the group than I thought it would be. Pinkie Pie is such a fourth wall breaking fiend. Fluttershy isn’t exactly my cup of tea normally but while most of the other ponies are a bit loud so the contrast is actually welcome.
Twilight Sparkle being a terrible friend to Fluttershy by basically first ignoring her, then pressuring her to leave her responsibilities in order to take up this fanciful task, and then when Fluttershy expresses concern she just walks away. I am going to be so mad if this all works out in Twilight’s favor because Flttershy is the only one who can save the day. I feel Doom creeping up on Twilight more and more, even from that 4 spot.
Rainbow Dash once again being terrible and then being validated by Fluttershy being scared of her own shadow so gross.
Pinkie Pie roaring is awesome. I approve of this.

Then Twilight complains they don’t have time for this when she was the one who insisted on Fluttershy coming. So should write a Doom side story after this episode I mean really now.

Okay since I got an episode where all of them were together getting good screen time I feel pretty good about starting to tier the powers as well as ranking them. The top hasn't changed but there was a minor flip near the bottom which is reflected.
As for my progress through the show... I like it. It is fun and it has Pinkie Pie, which is like saying "it is fun and even more, better fun." Unsure how much I'd be into it without Pinkie Pie destroying the rest of the cast most of the time though. Fluttershy can't carry an episode as she is, Applejack is okay at it maybe, Twilight is downright unlikable, they haven't done anything with Rarity, and I would rather write Doom/Rainbow Dash scenes than watch Dash on screen.
But maybe that will pick up. Anyway going to write a Doom scene and post that later.

No idea what this episode is going to be about, but Rarity is due for an episode. Yup, Rarity episode. The whole exchange with AJ and Rarity was pretty amusing and I already think Rarity is more entertaining in those couple of minutes than she has been in the previous seven episodes. Twilight Sparkle is managing to come off a lot more likable than previous episodes. Twilight Sparkle randomly having a slumber party book goes a long way towards that. I am also a big fan of Twilight’s clapping with her hooves; I’ve used a GIF of that a lot in many mafia games. Rarity and AJ screwing with each other by telling ghost stories about each other was pretty good. Oh boy, they have smores. And Rarity is giving detailed instructions no less.
Twilight’s epic look of horror when she discovers that AJ and Rarity are freaking out was pretty awesome. What I have taken from this episode thus far is that it is little wonder that Twilight Sparkle is liked if there are a lot of episodes like this. Two ponies go completely crazy makes Twilight look awesome. Oh there Twilight is making them feel bad for them being complete jerks.
Not to be a nitpicker but that wasn’t a loose branch that was pulled down into the treehouse, that was the complete top half of a tree. So AJ’s nagging was pretty random there. Also for a pony who can move all sorts of massive stuff Twilight sure is failing to do anything here at all.
“Does this count as camping” okay that slayed me. I think Twilight gets to move back up the list after this episode. I guess I can let go of the fact that Twilight’s powers are far too plot dependent. AJ was okay this episode but not amazing and I feel like Rarity defined herself very well with this episode even if it wasn’t much. I just plain liked her more than AJ this episode and as Skip Bayless would say I am a bit of a prisoner of the moment.
I see what they did there. I am growing to like Twilight more when she is not trying to do just about everything in an episode. Also her not being in direct conflict with the other ponies about silly things has helped her a lot. Like I have said previously when she just responds to the crazy she comes off pretty well. I liked the obvious nice sunshine backdrop they had at the start before the bad news happened. Spike is great as usual in the beginning. To my complete not surprise Pinkie Pie is being awesome as usual and is probably never going to be challenged in my rankings. Glance EVILLY, oh I love you Pinkie Pie.
Applejack is being silly in this episode I see. "She's so evil I even wrote a song about her" and then Pinkie literally sings the song. I don't understand how Pinkie is not everyone's pony overlord what is up with this. So we move on a bit and they entered the forest and they literally step in the flowers the Zebra warned them about. Everyone loses marks for their stupidity except for Pinkie Pie because she took the time to continue to sing her song. Why can't Rainbow Dash ever say anything good I don't understand this. Note: Have to make that Doom fanfic. Oh how sad, everyone is feeling blue. Get it? Blue? I am funny.
Pinkie Pie not being able to talk is the worst thing ever. On the other hand Rainbow Dash bashing herself against a window makes this episode amazing. AJ riding Dash like a horse is pretty great as well. Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy tag team action is not going to be topped for quite a long time. Anyway we all learn a lesson, about four fold I reckon, about not judging a book by its cover. No, really, they really beat us over the head with it.
