nah, had parvo. I feel so bad for her. she's been in the hospital at least a dozen times in the past six months and now she gets an animal she really wants and she had to kill it within 48 hours.

all undiagnosed chest/stomach pain. she leaves every time with no other answer. the most recent idea is that she may have lupus.

she's been just messed up. it's been tough here since we're in NC with no family around.

how's suree? haven't heard a peep about her in months! she could have had a baby for all i know

she's changed career aspirations three times in the last year! Pretty sure she's settled on becoming a police officer, though. She's started the application process and she'll probably be in the April 2013 VPD recruitment class. Meanwhile, I've just needed one silly credit in order to get my teacher's license but the teacher strike messed that up. I should've completed it this month but I won't get a chance until September.

I went to the Zelda concert last month! It was pretty awesome

5ish years! When I finish I'll be able to teach English, Social Studies and probably Law in a pinch. I've marked papers for a old prof for about a year now, and I just ran my first tutorial this year, but I need time in a "real school" to finish.

A police officer in Vancouver is fairly safe. Only 16 officers have died on-duty in over 100 years.

Valtari is more old school Sigur Rós than Takk and Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust combined. It has a more electronic edge to it too

so if you weren't a fan of those albums grab it anyway

So what's everyone getting for Record Store Day? The only album I really want is Rubies on red vinyl. Hopefully it won't be too expensive. Anything more than $30 and I'll be hesitant to buy. Maybe I'll be on the lookout for Sprawl II, but I doubt it.

I'd probably take feist/Asap Rocky/Tim Hecker/Clams Casino/K.R.I.T and Araabmuzik/Kendrick Lamar/Beach House/OPN/Ty Segall/Thee Oh Sees over GY!BE/FlyLo/Schoolboy/Atlas Sound/Wild Flag! Sunday is stacked, even with the awful headliner.

Listened to Fabric 63 all the way through - it's really good. Easily my favourite since Shackleton's all-original Fabric 55. It's a strong compilation of Levon Vincent original tracks and tracks by his friends throughout the world, and it's all deep techno. It's got more oomph than something from, say, Margaret Dygas or Andy Stott. Which makes sense; it's still primarily club music. Each song is given proper time to develop and mixed well within the set. Really lovely stuff.

I also checked out Radiohead's Coachella set. They started out on fire - Magpie, Staircase, and Daily Mail were all among the best performances of those songs. Radiohead fell back to Earth after Karma Police, but Identikit and Lotus Flower were both really awesome. Great set. Will Coachella stream this weekend's performances?
