Like, it's kind of ridiculous that you basically just need to counter one guard and all of a sudden you can kill 10 of them, but there was something incredibly satisfying about it, even if it felt almost cheap.

I know what you mean. Like I said, you basically just had to time counters sort of...vaguely well and you can kill 10 in a row. But seeing Ezio do all that awesome-looking stuff was very satisfying. I like games where even the simplest action looks and feels satisfying. God of War does the same thing - even the most basic L1 + any button attacks are great.

Kill streaks were great in ACR because certain enemies wouldn't instantly die from there. It was nice balance to AC2's slow, one-guy-at-a-time approach and ACB's dispatch them as quickly as possible problem.
