I am about 30 minutes into Case 3 and think I am about ready to put the game down. Edgeworth isn't nearly as interesting as a protagonist, and the supporting characters just aren't that captivating. I found myself getting bored with both the first and second cases halfway through.

In short, I am not really enjoying the game so far. If I don't like the first half, is there any reason that my opinion would change?

I'd say give the fourth case a try. It and the fifth are far better than the first three. If you're still not enjoying yourself, you probably won't enjoy the rest of the game either.

How much longer is the game? It feels like Case 2 dragged on for hours, which is part of what turned me off of the game.

3 and 4 are approximately the same length as 2 probably.

Case 5 is really long though.

I had the desire to finish AAI, but not PW3. PW3 case two was horribad and boring. Case three in AAI was annoying, but I enjoyed the game overall. Had no problems with Edgeworth himself.

omigod i should report this post as offensive

anyway, I didn't like Investigations either, but Cases 3 and 4 are good. 5 is good for about half of it. It just goes on too long. So yeah, I'd say keep going.

but PW3 case 2 is probably in my top 5 cases!

And Edgeworth is fine, but he made a much better antagonist than central protagonist.

So if I have to deal with Case 3 for 3-4 more hours, I will probably give the game a break. I don't think I can spend that long trudging through it.

Your loss, man. I found Edgey to be a much more entertaining protagonist than Phoenix, even though I hadn't really felt the hype for his character before.

I would never advocate giving up on something, but it sounds like this great game might just not be your thing. :-(

Meh, case 2 I could deal without. Same with case 3. The reaction was more toward the implication that you didn't finish the series and play the masterpieces that are 3-4 and 3-5 just because of 3-2, particularly when there are worse cases in the series.

AAI is worth finishing. The next few cases are all pretty fun. Last 30 minutes of case 5 drags but the rest of the case is good.

Maybe I should go play those cases. It doesn't help when my backlog is ginormous.

I thought 3-2 was one of the best cases in the entire series and possibly the best case that isn't a finale. Hell, I even liked it better than 3-5.

As for AAI, the game really doesn't get any better. The first part of Case 5 (before you get two certain pieces of evidence, you'll know what they are) is amazing. The second part is dragged on for way too long and has so many "is there nothing we can do" moments that I stopped caring after about the third time Edgeworth gets bailed out.

3-2 and AAI-4 are the best two non-final cases in the series, IMO. Too bad the rest of AAI (including the finale) is pretty meh.

I think E-4 is pretty overrated, but that's probably because I think Calisto Yew is perhaps the most annoying character in the series, and she makes the case less enjoyable by simply being in it.

I guess I just enjoyed the plot more or something.

Case 4 and 5 are really good but case 2 and 3 not so much. The first case was a decent introduction case I felt. A pretty good game overall.

My favorite parts of the other Ace Attorney games are the courtroom sequences. I've never liked investigation days.

I thought that AAI would be better since it was all investigations, but it's about the same as previous investigations, plus pressing people.

Yeah, I get this mentality. It's part of the reason I couldn't put AAI above any of the PW games, including JFA. AAI has good cases, but they never reach the heights the other PW games do because of the lack of courtroom showdowns.

"Interrogations" or whatever they are called do not have the same excitement as a courtroom showdown. Missing the prosecutor there trying to trip you up, too.
