The house is fantastic. It was so much work last year. My father-in-law and I got started on the outside of the house around the 4th of July (contractor did the framework and the roof). We then worked pretty much non-stop from then until December on everything else. Nothing like working 40 hours a week then going home and putting in another 40-50 hours on the house.

It really makes the time that I finally have now with my family that much sweeter.

That's terrific! And I imagine you saved a ton on the labor too. Icing on the cake. =)

Yeah, problem is it still cost quite a bit. We had to pay extra for a Well and for our Septic since we are outside of town. So all the savings got eaten up by things that don't add value to the house but are necessities.

If we had the entire house built by a contractor we would have had to pay more than the house is worth to build the house. <_<

15k of my debt is a 4.5% car loan, then my student loans are 2k at 6.8% 7k at 6.8% and 6k at 4.9% ish
