Board 8 > NHL Playoffs Confidence Challenge

The NHL Playoffs Confidence Challenge returns! The rules are very simple. Every round, you pick the winner of every series. You rank your picks in order of how confident you are in them. Every round, the point structure changes to reflect how there are fewer series. Meaning, in the first round, you pick +8, +7, +6, +5, +4, +3, +2, and +1. In the second round, you pick +8, +6, +4, and +2. In the CFs, you pick +8 and +4, and in the finals your pick is automatically worth 8 points.

Due to last year's results, I'm eliminating the whole "how many games" element of this. I really don't think a tiebreaker will be necessary. If, when we reach the finals, it looks like a tiebreaker may be needed, I'll come up with one at that time. So, for the first round, you use the following format to make your picks. NOTE: This is just an example, these are NOT my picks for the first round.

+4 Canucks
+3 Blues
+2 Panthers
+1 Coyotes

This would mean you are MOST confident that the Rangers will win and LEAST confident that the Coyotes will win.

Is anyone going to tabulate everyone's predictions to date or is that something I should do...

I figured Devils +8 seemed like a no-brainer. Panthers had an inflated record in a terrible division, Devils are on fire now, just seems like a good matchup for them? Of course, the non-Capitals SE division teams always seem to go on runs in the playoffs so I'll probably eat my words.

I won't be with the way we've been playing recently. It's like we finally get healthy and Hitch doesn't know what to do with all of these players. I can only hope it was just their plan to falter in these last games to save their energy and killer instinct so they can break out in the playoffs.
