Bought and completed this morning in one sitting. When it ended I thought "That was great", the last 5-10 minutes in particular are awesome.

And now I already want to go back and play it again and collect everything. A game I already enjoyed a ton is growing on me even more somehow.

Beautiful game, definitely worth the $15. You should really do your playthrough in one sitting if possible. Took me just under two hours.

ICO. It's ICO if Yorda were alive, helpful, and someone was playing her with you.

I have not played ICO. But it is multiplayer? Does it have offline multiplayer?

Yes, and no. Offline multiplayer would spoil the experience. Trust me on this. I can go into more detail, but this is one of those games where it's better to come in blind and with no expectations so you can get wowed by it. To put this in perspective, I'd rather spoil a game's ending than Journey's mechanics because of how good they are, and how well they work.

It's most similar to ICO in style, but it's different in a number of ways. Journey is really its own thing.

I agree with ZFS, while the closest similarity I can make is ICO, it really is quite different.

Also yeah, offline multiplayer would take away from the experience. The way their multiplayer works now is fantastic.

Not ICO

I would say it's like Portal in the most abstract sense

Exploration-based narrative in a self-explanatory world featuring very traditional "gamey"/arcadey gameplay with a couple of innovative twists that make it stand out and tie the gameplay into the story, and flawless presentation that focuses on a distinct and recognizable art style. Also it's a very short and replayable sleeper hit from a small developer and a really big publisher that spread in popularity through word of mouth.

Not sure what you're trying to say here. Portal was Valve and Valve. Not really a small developer.

No, it was the Narbacular Drop guys and Valve. Which then became Valve guys.

Doesn't matter. I think the question was in terms of the actual game, not how it was developed or how it came to be.

I'd like to know this too. ICO is my favorite videogame, and I doubt this game comes close to being as good as it.

Well yeah that might've been a bit of a stretch for Portal, since even though it was a bunch of new guys leading the development, lots of big veteran Valve devs worked on the game, too.
