Kotetsu's favorites are the same characters I save after Seymour is safe so I don't really know how this will impact my voting trends. He's not holding me to anything because he knows my voting trends and that I'm already an ally.

Tristam is just alright, he's not better than most of the characters in the contest but he's not the worst of what's left either. I agree with Xuxon however, this won't help much at all as Tristam was already the weakest link in the train (probably because he's the most legit character, that's how it works usually!)

I mean I don't care if Kotetsu uses this repayed save to just make you save someone you're already going to save next round, just so long as the trade gets completed you can keep your honour!

My honor tells me to follow the will of the guy I traded with, not a guy who wants my favorite character to get knocked out in a round I'll likely miss half of anyway.

There's no honor issue, since Kotetsu already said he's not owed anything.

If Kotetsu wanted a save next round and vcharon refused, then you'd have an honor issue. But as long as Kotetsu is cool then it's cool.
