Vegeta>Piccolo>Goku>Yamcha>Everyone else>Future Trunks>Krillin>Mr Satan
I guess I liked the more badass characters and thought of Krillin as a useless pansy waste of space, Satan as a dude who never got his comeuppance, and trunks as a whiny douchebag. and Piccolo becoming useless in a fight towards the end is why Vegeta edged him.
now that I'm older I appreciated the roles Krillin and Satan had (Krillin was damn vital to their adventures early on IMO), I understand Future Trunks' development, and I got annoyed at Vegeta's "I WANNA BEAT KAKAROT I WANNA BEAT KAKAROT" one dimensional mindset and I admired Piccolo's wisdom that made up for his lack of strength at the end

I never liked Gohan. Countless opportunities just HANDED to him and he continuously f***s them up. Cell, he reaches SSJ2 and still needs EVERYONE to hold his f***ing hand. Buu, he is given the greatest power in the universe by just SITTING THERE (meanwhile Vegeta trains for 7 years and can't even get SSJ3) and he STILL blows it against Buu.

Same exact reasoning to why I hate him as well, you can also add the fact that he got really cocky after the powerups too, and still blew it.
When I was little I wasn't much a fan of Satan, while not at the bottom, more middle, but as I got older I learned to appreciate his comic relief role. Definitely near the top for me now. Piccolo has always been my favorite though, going from from a villain, to an anti-hero type of role, to good guy.

I still think it was such a rip off to have Piccolo FINALLY be the strongest for once and then have him get jobbed out of it by Cell/The Saiyans, and he DIDN'T EVEN GET TO WIN A FIGHT.
Piccolo/17 is probably DBZ's best battle anyway, but I still think AT should've put Piccolo over at the end. It doesn't effect the story really at all and it lets all of us Piccolo fans have an awesome moment for him.

Well, Piccolo was always second best before Vegeta was. Goku defeats him, although he put up a great fight, Nappa was one sided, so I really won't include that, He was beating Frieza, before the transformation, was beating Cell before some trickery techniques by Cell(Solar Flare), which helped him escape, the 17 battle where he was of course winning, until more Cell antics. Most battles he was winning, then got shafted, or just barely got beaten.
Then Cell games came along, and Buu saga, which just put the Saiyans on an entirely different realm of power.
So I pretty much accepted that Piccolo was never going to win anything. : \
I never really liked Vegeta, I always liked Piccolo and Hercule (why the hell are you people calling him Mr. Satan anyway), so my important rankings have never really changed.

Actually I used to like Goten the most.... I don't know why. But then I realized that Gohan was the greatest.
I never liked Vegeta. Which is weird because I usually prefer the hardass characters (Hiei, for example). But I don't know, Vegeta just seemed like more of a b****. Or something. I like him more now than when I was younger though. Goku has always remained the same in my eyes. He's cool but whatever. Piccolo the same. Future Trunks is awesome.
Aaaaand... yeah. Gohan has and always will be my favorite.

I used to like gohan the most, now he's near the bottom for the same reasons everyone else has mentioned, kid is ****ing stupid. always liked piccolo and he has become my favorite by a good margin
