let me tell you a story

when I was 14 I was enrolled in a local basketball camp. Along with the drills, there were four competitions throughout. One of them was a 3 point contest. Everyday you shot 15 three pointers, most made at the end of the week won. This was tallied by the honor system, so after you went through each day, you reported your score to the coach in charge.

I was doing well, I was near the top of the leaderboard on the last day of the challenge.

You always have someone get your rebounds and pass you the ball for this, on the last day, I got the kind who was mentally handicapped. Whatever, I hit 5 of my first six shots.

The kid grabbed my 6th rebound, and heaved the ball... right at my nuts. Agonizing pain filled my body, my poor testicles were damaged severely. I got up and shot the rest of my shots, missing every single one. I was filled with anger. I added two shots to my final total for that day, blaming the kid who passed me the ball in my mind.

In a ridiculous coincidence, at the trophy presentation, I was announced as the winner... by one shot. The two I added to my total ended up being the perfect amount to win the trophy. It was a useless trophy, nearly ten years later, I have no idea where in my house the trophy even is. It might as well be fictional to all my friends and family, much like a user of the year title is.

but I'm still damn glad I won that trophy.

Seems fair enough. It's reasonable to assume he could make at least two more three pointers if not for the fact he got hurt.
