Skyward Sword: My third favorite game from last year, probably would have been number one if it weren't for the hand holding. Some hand holding can be nice, but not a two hour introduction / tutorial, and constant reminders of where to go, how much your rupees are worth, and what that feather you just picked up is.
Tales Of Legendia: I loved playing through this game for the most part. But I never did fully finish it. Why? IT HAS NO VOICE ACTING IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE GAME. Such a deal breaker. If the first half had less voice acting, so the second half could have just as much too, that would have been fine. But no, they have to take away something that big and expect you to go the last 20+ hours without it.

Skyward Sword, for pretty much the same reasons as you. I have no problems with the controls that some claim to have(I didn't have to calibrate once, aside from the mandatory one). I loved most of the dungeons, and it's puzzles for the most part were great(the rotating key things were annoying).
Pacing, and handholding just absolutely makes me loathe the experience, and while I appreciate them trying to have a good story in there, Zelda games should be more about the adventure, and less focus on its story.
skyward sword is the ultimate example of this. it revived the series creatively from the funk it's been in for the past decade, but the game design is AWFUL. it should be top 3 in that series easily but it's not even close, I've played free flash games that are much more thoughtfully designed than skyward sword, how the hell did that game take them 5 years to make?

I'm pretty sure someone told me this once. Since I'm allowed to turn it off, I may be willing to give this game a chance again.
From: Big Bob | #015 Tons of fighting games. If they had a proper tutorial and a storymode that didn't completely suck, I could see myself playing far more of the genre.
This for me and Street Fighter IV. Saw the pretty intro, saw the great scores, went and bought the game. I was awful, the genre seems so hard to get into unless you spend another $80 or whatever for a proper fight stick, then learn all of the move inputs.
I guess this is why the only fighting games I play is Smash Bros.
