HGR, rank calc 1 through 3 in terms of hardness from most to least. I've always heard conflicting things like, "Calc 1 is harder than Calc 2" and "Calc 2 is much harder than Calc 1" and whatnot, so I figure I'd ask you since you said you're a math major and I like opinions.

hmm...it's hard to say because i took 1/2 in high school and learned 3 on my own, but i'd say that:

-3 is probably the easiest if you have a solid foundation in 1 and 2, since a lot of it is a natural extension of the basic principles from 1 and 2.

-2 is probably harder than 1 just because it gets into more advanced concepts? improper integration, taylor series, solids of revolution (at least i think this is covered in 2 and not 1). i could see 1 being harder for people if the main sticking point is just the concept of a limit, though.

i suppose that would be 2 > 1 > 3, but i don't think anyone's calculus learning experience is quite like anyone else's.

my biggest shortcoming is that when i'm no longer in the mood for something i just stop doing it completely and no number of attempts at motivation will change anything unless i magically get in the mood again

wigs: things are pretty good. yeah, it took me quite a while to beat the guy (though i think i was worse at games back when i was playing that). also i had to restart my playthrough once due to laptop failure - i was already like halfway in so that was unpleasant.

Ah lame. After 'beating it once' (aka getting to the guy but not defeating him), I didn't have too much trouble with it except for the Mother Brain boss and the Ghosts & Goblins section, the one part with the moving spikes.

-often you don't pay enough attention to things
-you don't seem to have a strong or even a significant opinion on most issues, which comes across as boring. even when you do show a hint of personality, you couch your feelings in unenthusiastic language. i don't think anyone uses 'i guess' or similar qualifying statements more than you do.
