People see that they can get two of the thing for twenty dollars and decide in their mind "Well I'm not sure that's really worth $20 to me," but then they throw in a third one at no added cost, and people feel like "Okay maybe two isn't worth that, but if they're giving me another one, I think I'm making out pretty well!" It's surprisingly a really good technique for selling things.

People see that they can get two of the thing for twenty dollars and decide in their mind "Well I'm not sure that's really worth $20 to me," but then they throw in a third one at no added cost, and people feel like "Okay maybe two isn't worth that, but if they're giving me another one, I think I'm making out pretty well!"

Not even realizing they're buying a f***ing tube.
