I believe the reviews were indicative of a decent Mario Party game...

http://www.gamerankings.com/browse.html?search=mario+party&numrev=3&site=

If Gamerankings can be any real indication (lol). Though they have 1>2>9>3 and 2 is definitely the best if 9 isn't better...

The only thing they have in common is that they have Mario characters and are played on a board game type board.

Someone who wants a Mario Party-esque game would not be happy with something resembling a more hardcore version of Monopoly.

Pretty much this. Fortune Street is not a minigame collection. Its Monopoly with stocks.
