I think we all new this already.

What's confusing is that they're still turtles despite them being aliens.

Actually, this was also the name of a live-action Turtle series that was only on for a year.

I also think the turtles were adults in that series, so maybe it'll be the same for this one.

The producer is still, overall, responsible for everything in the movie. Bay could've canned the writer's script if he wanted.

edit: A good example of this is when Gary Ross and Suzanne Collins got rid of the original script for the Hunger Games and wrote it themselves.

He's also likely not the only producer on film AND one of the writers for the film is Eastman himself.

So yeah, one of the original creators of TMNT is OK with this.

writers have less to do with the direction that the production takes than producers. a lot less.

and Michael Bay has the power in the relationship regardless of how many producers there are.

also the other creator of TMNT is not as happy. his position is 'it sounds like it will suck but i will wait and see'

This has been shown with Dragonball Evolution. Ben Ramsey, despite being the writer, actually didn't write the script. His script was much closer to the anime in terms of plot and characters than the final product. I think the director didn't like it because he thought it was too good for a licensed movie.
