Also this scene remains the same regardless of which ending you picked or the amount of war assets you had. Except Joker will have a robot face if you picked Synthesis, and I imagine Edi probably couldn't be there if you picked Destroy.

I swear there were like chip looking things on his face in the Synthesis ending on the planet.

What's funny is that the colored blast isn't even meant to destroy everything, in its path. Its desired outcome is based on what you choose, so it would destroy the reapers, make them retreat, or synthesize people. Not kill humans, destroy buildings, or cause the destruction of the Normandy.

So yeah, the Normandy falling apart from the blast makes no sense either, and they shouldn't be deserted. Unless of course you want to argue the blast that is going to hit them is the blast from the destruction in the relay, but if that's the case, then Shepard just pretty much screwed the galaxy, and your shipmates who magically got scooped up by Joker are the few remaining survivors in the galaxy and Joker is forced to get it on with your love interest if you want to repopulate.

Also everyone in the entire galaxy is pretty much screwed in the short term, since all of the food supply chains are ruined etc
